Wow.... 2 for 1 pricing! And for less than a condo in Vancouver (even if you factor in mooring)

And you can buy the Carrier Princess too, so you can start your own fleet!

Price for both 375,000? am I missing or incorrect on something? as per Neil link. I'm not sure how you're interpreting the words. I see it as $375,000 for each of the ships. So both ships would be $750,000 total price. I don't think it's a "2 ships for $375,000 total" deal. ------- The advert is worded - I think this is poorly worded. "Both" gives the wrong connotation. I think it should say "Each" I despise words that can be taken two ways...

There is a couple of landing craft-type ferries that look interesting. Anyone think any of them might be suitable for duty a la Kwuna? I agree with the last post here about the price listed for the 2 BC Ferries. Badly worded for sure. Might someone have a 'legal' argument if one tried to purchase them both for listed price?

Poorly worded... and bad syntax as well because only 1 of the 2 ads have a price listed, which only increases the 2 for 1 'bundle' price inference.

And when the auction was held on the Burnaby previously there was limited interest. There was only one bidder if I remember correctly. So where all these new potential buyers will surface from should be interesting.

And when the auction was held on the Burnaby previously there was limited interest. There was only one bidder if I remember correctly. So where all these new potential buyers will surface from should be interesting. Unfortunately I will not be joining the bidding fray as my Lotto Max ticket from last night yielded zero return on investment. To those folks with money to spare, they may want to do a little research on the wording used in the ad, the use of the word 'both'. It's crazy when you are quite sure of the meanings of words we use everyday, but there's times when something tells you to 'look it up'. So, just for the fun of it, I dragged out my Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, Tenth Edition, and had a peek at 'both' and 'each'. 'Both' as a pronoun pl in constr: the one as well as the other. as a conjunction: used as a function word to indicate and stress the inclusion of each of two or more things specified by coordinated words, phrases, or clauses. as an adjective: being the two: affecting or involving the one and the other.
'Each' as an adjective: being one of two or more distinct individuals having a similar relation and often constituting an aggregate. as a pronoun: each one as an adj: to or for each: APIECE
Question arising? Is an advertisement a 'legal document'? PS. I'm sure BCFS have their reasons for wanting dispose of the 'Nanny' in short order but, might it not make sense to keep her around until the 'Raven' at least makes it safely to B.C. waters, maybe even a bit longer?

If we do some research on the broker as listed above, there is some interesting content. If you have a chance take a look. We really don't even know if BCFS is even supporting or has an agreement with this company? P.S. I had a losing ticket also. So I will not be joining the bidding fray either. I need new tires on my car first.

If you stay in Ensanada long enough, you might eventually see the 'Burnaby there. (too soon?)

Some of my last photos of the Burnaby in-service, though I will be aboard for her last round trip on Monday. These certainly are not the photos to remember her by, though... Seems fitting.

The Queen of Burnaby, the way I'd like to remember her ... wearing her original & best livery, and serving on her original route (Horseshoe Bay - Departure Bay). She is not in her original form, however, having been stretched two years earlier. Mainland mountains are the backdrop for this photo shot by me on the 28th of August 1974 © WCK-JST - Fujichrome 74-13-08 by Jim Thorne, on Flickr

I hope her (hopefully good) second life turns out well and with her successor, the Salish Orca all the best of luck.
