Scott do you know why they are not using the walkway on the Coquitlam? Last Wed when I was there It was not in used for the C-Class. We docked in berth 2 on the Oak Bay at around 2:30pm and they were begining to load traffic on the main deck with no overhead. Mind You the Coquitlam was running close to 1 hour late. See this picture of The overhead walkway in raised position with the Coquitlam. www.flickr.com/photos/123779583@N06/33518318871/in/album-72157644422719091/I'm not sure of the specific reason the overhead wasn't used when you were there, but seeing your photo, it appears it's due to the tide (as Dane has mentioned).

Okay, Now that I got a few minutes to spare I will say that I enjoyed my trip on the Newest BC Built vessel in the Fleet. Since it is very unlikely that I will ever sail on the Jervis Inlet run I took this opportunity. Overall I like the Island Sky. I like the little gift shop and Coffee shop in one. The only "Beef" I have is the crowded car deck. You still have to dodge in and out of vehicles. It would not be so bad if cars were built with adjustable mirrors that could fold in when on a ferry. Yes, Its all about the Mirrors. Here is a couple more vids with one on the car deck and another leaving Langdale.

Leaving Langdale:
Arriving Horseshoe Bay:
Overall I would Sail on the Island Sky again if I had the opportunity.

Just out of curiosity am I the only on this group or the world for that matter to ever post vids of the Island Sky on the Langdale run. (YouTube or otherwise).

It's kinda neat when you can lay claim to something rare in this world. LOL, cool!

The Island Sky is on her way in to Departure Bay. She's currently meandering around the bay slowly. I'll try to get some pics though they won't be good quality, sorry!
Hm, looks like I can't upload pics (I get a message saying the forum has exceeded its space limit). The ones I got aren't worth posting to Flickr so I hope one of you guys will get some good pics of her while she's here. She's docked at berth 1.
She's so quiet!

I think that she will spend a good part of that time in drydock and then at Fraser Marine Unit (Deas refit facility). I think that she's only a Departure Bay for a short time until her drydock date at Vancouver.

I think that the Raven is getting her own refit done now, for warranty and other work.

She's not at Departure Bay this morning, and a check of MarineTraffic.com shows that she's on her way over to Vancouver, passing under the Lions Gate shortly. Where's she going?

Looks like the Island Sky is sitting in Berth 2 at Deas, as you say. However this was the berth that the Queen of Burnaby was being kept. Can anyone confirm if the Burnaby was shifted back over to “the wall” aka Berth 5, or moved somewhere else altogether? Is this the Island Sky’s first time at Deas?

I received this invitation today.
Name change due to the upcoming island class or is it something else?

Assumably the Island Class will be given the “Island” prefix when they are named after their arrival in BC. It’ll be interesting to see what it’ll be named
