Last I heard, the Queen of Tsawwassen finishes its service this Labor Day weekend. David Hahn also vaguely promised that there would be some sendoff ceremony, to acknowledge our longest-serving ferry. Does anybody know if anything's planned, and what the future holds for the ship?

Was talking to some crew members earlier on the Tsawwassen. Word is the Chilliwack takes over on the 6th or the 7th. Knowing something about past vessel takeovers on the route, it'll likely be a Sunday so the 7th. CODE RED GUYS: Plan some trips on her now! You may not get another chance after this!

In fact if you were to look at the schedule for BC Ferries she leaves Bella Coola at 8am on the 8th and arrives Port Hardy at 9pm. Please do some research before posting things like this!

Turns out that crew member was fresh off vacation and probably didn't know yet. I talked to another crew member the next day who said the Chilliwack was replacing the Tsawwassen on the 14th. He also said the I-Sky would be ready (I'll believe it when I hear it) the 22nd of this month.

The Wack will probably go in for some work at Deas before she goes to Jervis Inlet. She needs to have her RADs circulated and Navigation Computer Fixed.

Alright... i have some unique Tsawwassen images, but I have also just completed my crowning glory of photographic tributes... And it seems that the Queen of Sidney has also somehow come back from the dead to pose with her sister as well...

Althought these may not be photos, I think videos are especially appropriate. Today was the day she was brought down to Deas to begin retirement. Here I am sounding the horn, upon departure at Earls Cove on Saturday evening. Ok, yes I accidently sounded the horn in the middle of instruction. That at was by accident though, as I wasn't expecting the little lever to fall out of my fingers when I pulled the pin that holds it in place. www.flickr.com/photos/ferrymanbcpix/2862228782/in/photostream/Now here's Esquimalt Queen's chance at blowing the horn upon departure at Saltery Bay. I was filming, and tried to add in a little extra with watching the telegraphs go. www.flickr.com/photos/ferrymanbcpix/2861402313/in/photostream/Just a teaser of what we experienced on the Tsawwassen this weekend!

Those of us fanatics would greatly appreciate that... If you have a camera, smuggle it in to work with you. Perhaps this forum should also consider hiring another moderator whose duties are solely to attack the hordes of mis-spelled words, and poorly constructed sentences or just poorly typed ones. And believe me, it doesn't help that the function keys such as 'shift' and 'delete' seem to be laid out differently on every different keyboard that I use.

[Quiet aside: I liked the lashing and look forward to them in the future....] Black and Decker Sales Man alert Actually, I was just hungry and had a craving for PASTA ... If the noodles are not wet, then they are either uncooked (and brittle) or they are cooked and dried out (flavourless) -- hence my preference of wet noodles ... and homemade sauce ...
