In the mid seventies I worked a short stint aboard the Cindy Mozel. Not sure I have all my facts straight here but as I recall, the Cindy Mozel operated by Rivtow Straits under contract to BC Ferries, towed a covered barge to provide twice weekly scheduled service between Prince Rupert and Skidegate. In those days passengers would drop off their cars, trucks, tractor trailers or heavy equipment at Rivtows yard and then fly across and pick up their vehicles on the other side. I wonder if anyone has pictures they would be willing to share of the Cindy Mozel with her barge sporting the Rivtow colors or if anyone has any stories of their experiences traveling the route in that era or if anyone knows the whereabouts of the Cindy Mozel now or the barge, the name of which escapes me.

You would probably have better luck asking this on the BC Nautical History facebook page, if you haven't already. They've got a lot of people on there who've been around the towing industry for a long time. I think I might have a schedule for the barge service, but I don't think there's ever been any discussion of it on this forum.

I don't have any photos of her but Cindy Mozel currently is owned by Island Tug & Barge where she tows oil barges on BC's coast.
