2021 has rocketed by and it looks like we need to start thinking about what's going to grace our banner for 2022. So, if you have any creative theme ideas for what the 2022 flagship banner should be, tell us here. We will leave this up until the end of November, and then the moderators will choose one of the themes, and set it up at the beginning of December. Submissions will be open for most of the month of December, and voting will take place just before the new year. For now, let's hear your ideas on what theme you would like to see.

As I said after the 2021 banners were introduced, we should commemorate the 60th anniversary of CENTURY 21, THE 1962 SEATTLE WORLD'S FAIR. My banner of the KALAKALA and ILLAHEE sporting "CENTURY 21" and the fair's logos was meant to be a preview of what we would see in the 2022 display of WCF banners. My KALAKALA and ILLAHEE pic will likely be reused and I have a few more ferries with the logos on their sides to offer. *** *** *** *** *** ***THE RULES:Any pictures (your own or purchased) of WSF ferries sporting the CENTURY 21 and logos are acceptable (they must have the logos on their sides!). Any pictures (your own or purchased) of buildings of the Seattle Center dating 1962. The Coliseum (with its originally painted red trusses and no logos on the crown), Space Needle (original colors), the Science Center, Monorail, Food Circus, the Fountain, and any action pics of people enjoying the fair. *** *** *** *** *** ***An exemption of one photo rule should be in place for 2022. The width would be the same. The exemption, however, would be the height to accommodate ferries having tall masts. Be modest and don't go too high, though (moderators could advise contributors if their photos are excessively high). *** *** *** *** *** ***An optional placement of lettering could say: "WHERE WERE YOU IN 1962?", "MEET ME AT THE 1962 WORLD'S FAIR IN SEATTLE!" or "CENTURY 21, THE SEATTLE WORLD"S FAIR". *** *** *** *** *** ***That's my idea for the 2022 Forum Flagship Banners, the 60th anniversary of a proud happening in the history of Seattle and the State of Washington. Amazing to say, the iconic Coliseum has been renewed under her trusses to house a new NHL team with seats full of fans (and, the first home game to be broadcast on legendary Hockey Night In Canada!). Will the Sonics return? We hope!!

With WSF and BC Ferries adding new vessels, I think it is time to showcase them!

I like the idea of 'new faces in the fleets' ... Perhaps a restriction to vessels that have come on line in the last decade would allow for more than just photos of BC's new I-class ships.
New vessels in the BCF, WSF & AHMS (not sure if there are any?) would be good, as would non-passenger ferries such as those of Seaspan. We also need to include inland vessels.
I don't think I would have much to contribute, perhaps photos of BC's Columbia ...

Ferries from the past decade is a good idea. If we allow ferries built and in service from 2010 or 2011, that would allow a wider range of vessel choices. I would also be inclined to open the field to new ferries from around the world, not just our little corner. Most of our members are west coast based, but I would love to see some entries from other places.

I am good with all of this starting 2010 and newer. The new Seaspan ships look quite nice!
