The Kuper's AIS is now showing her as PUNE LUXUTTH. Edit: She's not currently searchable on VRQS. Attachments:

I hope the new for Kuper is Pune Luxxutth.Do you realize that the name 'Kuper' is actually the former name of Penelakut Island? This vessel already had a geographically linked name.
BC Ferry Services has not been entirely consistent in avoiding geographically linked names. The Malaspina Sky comes to mind, as do the three Northern vessels. What if the Northern Adventure was to serve on a southern route such as Comox - Powell River?

Its interesting to see a name change for this, but its quite understandable with all the stuff about residental schools that has been coming out. Its also in line with the names of some of the Island Class ships which also have first nations names in agreement with the local tribes, It be interesting to see what future vessel names will be for other new or exisitng ships.

My best read on that is Pun-AK-lakut, but the second syllable is more like acch, than ak. First nations languages are full of glottal stops, different tongue actions, and backthroat intonations that we anglos aren't used to. Hopefully we can do justice to what they want this boat to be called.

Pune Luxxutth is now at Swartz Bay Why is it at Swartz Bay that seems odd for a Island Class vessel, probably for temporary storage/repositioning or something?

Oh I just realized the Pune'Luxutth not an Island class vessel, I completley spaced on this one and forgot, whoops!
