I'm sorry that you disagree with my choice of theme for the months of August and September. As I'm sure you recall, our current theme in rotation for June and July features any vessel while not-in-service. My choice of theme is to feature an entire class of vessel, regardless of its state of operability. My apologies to you and anyone else who disagrees with my choice for us to feature BC Ferries' Salish Class. I am sorry, Scott, that you think that I am in 'disagreement' with your choice. This was merely a suggestion aimed at giving our WS members a reason to participate. I do not have WSF photos to contribute even if you were to go along with the suggestion. I am sorry that you were offended.
Thank you for clarifying your position, Jim. As you'd written "should include" rather than "suggest it include", this read negatively to the theme that was clearly conveyed and thus required my response.

You know, to make this more geographically 'broad', this 'flagship' should include BC's 'Salish Class', and WSF's M/V Salish (& possibly her sisters). Any ferry with the word 'Salish' in its name ... Does anyone have a version of the Queen of Coquitlam/Queen of Oak Bay's whistle that i could use for a horn battle on YouTube(And Give Credit) If you were using a recent recording of the two vessels, the Coquitlam's whistle on the number two end would likely win. You may use one of my recordings if you'd like.

Redwise was contracted for the ship move to/from Poland. Thus, she is under the command of the Redwise crew. BC Ferries crew are for all intents & purposes, just passengers? They're passengers who are actively preparing their ship for its return to service.

It is my understanding that there are BC Ferries crew on board the SoBC right now, including some senior officers. So, can anyone tell me why pilots are required? It appears to me that in cases like this the requirement should be waved. Redwise was contracted for the ship move to/from Poland. Thus, she is under the command of the Redwise crew.

Having not taken my inaugural ride on the 'NorEx' yet, I'm curious as to one design feature of her from pre-build days. Didn't initial lay-out drawings of the 'NorEx' include a stand-alone bar/cocktail lounge or am I just way off here? The 'bar/lounge' thing, especially on route 10 has always been a curious on again, off again sort of thing. The 'Queen of the North' had a permanent bar. The original design from Steen Friis included a standalone piano bar. That was later modified by incorporating the bar into the Vista Restaurant (buffet), similar to the Queen of the North, but with no grand piano. The bar and buffet are only available during the summer season.

Hello everyone, out of curiosity, what ferry did the Coastal Inspiration replace on route 30? Thanks! The Coastal Inspiration bumped the Duke Point crewed Queen of Alberni to Tsawwassen. This allowed the Queen of New Westminster to replace the Queen of Vancouver as the number two Tsawwassen-based vessel on Route 1 during the summer. Technically, the Coastal Inspiration allowed for the replacement of the Queen of Vancouver.

Someone has uploaded the "Welcome Aboard" VHS to YouTube. This was sold in the gift shops in the mid 90's...
