The Cow was on Route 3 this weekend.

Would you want to back the Van out of Long Harbour? Her draft might be too deep also with all the extra weight she carries. Is the Chilly around or in refit?

So are they building four Island Homes or some 144s?

I have a feeling that she won't be out of service as soon as everyone thinks. Every new build BC Ferries has had in the last few years has been delayed going into service.

Why was she towed?

I think he means platforms after she was lifted. She had platforms before she was lifted. You can see them in the photos after she was sliced into in 1970.

I would think that if they changed the name, they would have to change the whole brand, a la BC Ferries. Which means repainting the entire fleet.

And how much money would it take to rebrand the system? How many signs would have to be changed? New brochures? Repainting? We are already cash strapped, why spend even more when the name we have already works.

I think that her deck looks like it will be a nightmare to load. Hopefully she doesn't end up like the Queen of the Islands.

The New West never carried as much as they listed anyways. They did four lanes on one side then three lanes on the other side of the upper car deck for more side clearance on the bigger vehicles.

Rusting away in Tacoma is still better than being scrapped in Mexico. Just by a little.

Renny is having problems too, already 45 minutes behind.

Am I missing something or isn't the Sealth supposed to be in the San Juans right now? According to the vessel watch there are only three boats in the San Juans right now and the Sealth is still at Eagle Harbor.

Well seeing as though it says "Queen of Tsawwassen Victoria" on the life ring, I'm thinking it is from the Queen of Tsawwassen. Just a guess though.

They want to put the Hiyu on the South Vashon run too, don't know how that would save them money when it is constantly overloaded.

Seeing as though they have a "Deck 3" I would assume they were designed for platforms.

It wouldn't have been that hard to design an updated C-Class boat. Just look at the Jumbo Mark IIs of WSF, they are just updated designs of the original Jumbos.

If taking some money away from one of the 144s is the solution, or even building only one Keystone boat lets just get it done. The longer you wait the more it costs, plus you can keep the Evergreen around a few years longer. One reason I am happy the state is finally doing something about 520 bridge and the Alaska Way Viaduct. Suck it up and take the financial hit now before the price goes up even more.

Not surprised at all, although I am disappointed that Dakota Creek and Nichols Bros didn't even submit a bid. WSF needs to just suck it up and get these boats built. Biggest problem is that Todd will probably get the 144 bid to which means those boats will be delayed too.

Why isn't the Rennie running today? I thought they were just parking her on the non-busy days.
