The new boat is based off of the Issaquah's with a midsection put in for the extra auto capacity. That means it will have the standard center tunnel. I would be surprised if the single stack makes it because they can't do the LNG conversion in the future. With two stacks you can mount the tanks between them.

I went down to Foss today to try and get some pictures of her on the Ship Canal but she had already left. Anyone know when she left? Always wanted to get a shot of a ferry in the Locks too.

I thought the Hyak was in the #5 spot this summer?

And the Mark IIs really don't hold that many more cars than the Wally/Spokane. Well, that is on paper, don't know how much it is actually.

I'm still shocked that the Legislature actually made a decision.

My guess would be that because her 2nd deck was added quite a while after the other 4 boats, so there were some design changes learned from the other boats.

Great, another study to spend a couple millions dollars on then be ignored. Sounds great to me!

The New West doesn't have platforms and they only use 7 of the 8 lanes on the upper deck so one side has more room for trucks/SUVs. Its a tight fit with four lanes on one side.

Its funny you bring up the 520/Redmond Way interchange chokai, they had just opened up the new lanes this past week. I was in Redmond today around 4/430pm and there were no traffic problems. On a "normal" day before the lanes opened, traffic would be backed up the hill past Microsoft. If they had just spent the money the 1st time instead of doing a two lane bridge, which was inadequate when it opened, they probably would have saved money in the long run.

Or they could have just submitted to having one large boat on the route and this would have been null ans void.

I'm assuming his boat was on of the ones involved in the vessel switch this weekend.

Well I know if you have a vinyl top on an old car they tend to rust underneath it. Would make sense in a salt water environment.

I need a smilie that is hitting its head over and over again. Seriously, talk about beating a dead horse. The 64s are being built, there is nothing stopping that so matter how many times you say its a bad design. Hopefully the 144s will follow. End of story.

Seems to me that he wants someone else to pay for a restoration on his boat. And it isn't going to happen.

The maintenance schedule got modified yesterday and I see the Chelan is getting a month of drydock time. I don't remember seeing this in past versions of the schedule, does this mean she is finally getting a paint job?

Except that not that many people are getting the enhanced licenses either. People just don't want the hassle, you have to make an appointment to get an enhanced license. I got a passport a couple of years ago when I heard about the new law, I go up to Canada a couple of times a year for car shows.

The three million is only for a study of a new Anacortes Terminal. Haven't they already done this? More than once? I love the attitude of this State, if public opinion is against it just make another study with your taxpayer money.

So I have a question. The service notice about the Edmonds/PT service says the boat leaves Edmonds at 8:40pm, but no departure from PT. Is it a round trip or just one way with a deadhead back?
