I think it has to do with a lot of ships get their refits done right now so, there isn't the space at Deas. It may be easier to send a work crew from Deas out to the ship's home port.
As for the SOBC being at Swartz Bay, she probably has drydock time booked at Esquimalt to fix her bow thruster.

Does anyone know what other ships havent had any of the old dogwood furniture etc removed? The three V's and Queen of Tsawwassen still have the old carpets and furniture. Except the Saanich had her interior redone to match the way the Spirits were originally laid-out in 1997.

I think you're right Coxnnick, SOBC is having bow thruster issues. Whenever the winds or tides are strong she seems to sit out for the rest of the day. Let's hope this gets addressed in her refit in Feb.

I think this might be due to lower vehicle numbers over the past year. BCFS has to make-up for the shortfall somehow; I wonder if Coastsavers are next...?

This sounds to me that somebody's trying to get rich quick. I mean come on, it's taken him 2 years to file suit! As Chris said it's not a bright idea to fish in the path of a ferry terminal. This man's supposed "injuries" may or may not be caused by this incident although, he is entitled to his day in court. Let's see what BCFS side of the story is....

Maybe sometime during the voyage they should turn on the fire sprinklers to wash everything down. Or, A sign saying, You Already Know What's Coming Down This Pipe.

Hey Chris, That pamphlet at the bottom where it says Queen of Saanich it sure looks like the picture of the Van. It's on page 4 of Peter Favelle's book The Queens of British Columbia.

Only in the passenger deck are the Oaky and Surrey bigger. Their machinery is identical with the other three C's.

I wonder what picture of Campbell they will use on the bow? Booking photo from the infamous Hawaii trip? I am partial to the dishevelled looking ones, where Gordo looks like he's just come off a 12-hour bender. Let's post it near the wheelhouse near the Hazelwood room .... How about instead of the slugs on the funnel have a picture of his Maui Wowie. ;D

DOT photoA brand new Spirit of Vancouver Island - 1994 - sporting the Victoria Commonwealth Games logo on the side. The photo is taken on route 1 somewhere, I am not exactly certain where. She might be lining up to back into berth 1 at Swartz Bay.

I think they look kinda cool too in a way. Do airlines jets do something similar ? Or am I thinking of oversized wrap-around airline logos? I know tha Alaska Airlines has one of their 737's decked out with Disneyland motif.

Hmm, very interesting; Could this be why Cascade dropped off the radar screen several months ago?

Anybody else see this service notice? Mill Bay: Possible Delays Posted September 29, 2007 October 3, 2007 Customers are advised that there may be possible delays on the Mill Bay ferry on October 3, 2007. British Columbia’s “most beautiful shortcut” has been chosen as the backdrop for a feature film. The production will be taking place aboard the MV Mill Bay and around the terminals on October 3, 2007. Filming will occur during regular operations; however, the impact on traffic is anticipated to be minimal. I wonder what movie it is? My nephew, who works in the movie industry on the mainland said that it is filming for an episode of the TV series Bionic Woman.

well why did the Queen of Vancouver go from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen via Behind Saturna Island then? The Q-Van didn't have enough power to deal with the currents running though Active Pass. As she was only able to do around 10 knots.

They may do something with Berth 3 as the CI will be calling in there as well. I think I remember Hahn saying that minimal dock modifications would need to be made; in his ramblings at the AGM.
