I wonder what docking the NA is going to be like? Will that stern ramp be removed? Will it be like how the Queen of Chilliwack's Doors work? Only time will tell.

Hopefully the enlarged openings aren't for moving in larger items during the reconstruction of the interior. The scenary is so spectacular there can't be enough windows.

Queen of Surrey Annual Refit Posted February 02, 2007 Langdale - Horseshoe Bay
From Wednesday, February 14 through Thursday, March 15, 2007 the Queen of Surrey will be removed from service for annual refit.
In order to ensure regular sailing times and service levels are maintained on the Sunshine Coast route, the Queen of Coquitlam will be redeployed from Tsawwassen-Duke Point route as the temporary vessel.
The Queen of Esquimalt will replace the Queen of Coquitlam on the Duke Point route on a modified schedule.
The Queen of Surrey is expected to return to service with the 6:20 a.m. departure from Langdale on Friday, March 16.

Ah hah, at last! It has been 3 years since her last refit, and I love how they say it's annual.
Queen of Capilano Annual Refit Posted February 02, 2007 Horseshoe Bay - Bowen Island
Bowen Island Customers please note the Queen of Capilano will now be out of service on the Bowen Island route from February 14 through April 5, 2007 for a refit and installation of a new propulsion system.
For this revised time period, the Bowen Queen will be the replacement vessel. Because this is a smaller vessel than the Queen of Capilano overloads are expected during commuter sailings. Customers are encouraged to plan ahead, if possible travel outside of peak sailing times, or arrive at the terminal early for their desired sailing. Car pooling may be an option for some customers.
The Bowen Queen has a 70 car capacity and a 400 maximum passenger and crew license compared to an 85 car capacity and a 445 maximum passenger and crew license on the Queen of Capilano.
Commercial customers please note that vehicles over 10 tonnes GVW (10,000 kg) are restricted to centre lane loading only on the Bowen Queen. This means that there will be reduced capacity for commercial vehicles traveling between Horseshoe Bay and Snug Cove while the Queen of Capilano is in refit.
Food service will be available on the Bowen Queen during the refit period.
BC Ferries looks forward to returning the Queen of Capilano to service on the Bowen Island route on Friday, April 6, 2007.

I mention this because on my most recent trip trip on the Queen of Surrey, which was this past summer, somebody forgot their laptop on the and it was aboard the ship for a round trip. They had the RCMP involved in some way cause a few minutes before we started loading we heard a siren from a police car that was leaving the Horseshoe Bay Area.

Why arent they modifying Prince Rupert and Skidegate docks too?? Or dont they need to modify those ones?? I suspect the berth modification crew are making their way north starting at Port Hardy, then going on McLoughlin Bay. After that they will head for Rupert and Skidegate. You will note that the McLoughlin Bay work is scheduled to finish on March 1st leaving four weeks available to modify the other two locations. I expect BCFS's to put out another service notice to this affect about mid February. JST

They're still pretending that the Queen of Tsawwassen takes 126 cars. A while ago they were talking about the 30 car Tenaka. VW Bugs, maybe.
Today they actually issued a service notice for the Howe Sound Queen running late.... by 12 minutes. Nice to keep everyone informed, but I think someone just likes writing service notices.

I noticed Captain Lloyd on the Queen of Surrey this morning and then later in going up to administration in Horseshoe Bay. I wonder if she was going to pick up the Queen of Coquitlam.
I also noticed on the vessel tracking that the Queen of Esquimalt was heading to Duke Point this morning and doing 19.4 knots! Wow! Is that even possible?
