Here's the Queen Of The Islands in the original Dogwood livery, MOH, Expo, and the current BCFS livery.

Ok I thought I would do one of the Blue Canoes. You know, that superstructure sort of reminds me of the Coho.

I just went to your Photobucket page. You have quite a large collection of ferry drawings now. Keep up the good work! They're fun to look at.

She doesn't look too bad! Might as well tell the yards in BC we want something like that

Warning this is a JOKE! ;D Ok I just had too with all the talk about what boats for the Portownsend - Keystone run. How about the new Issaquah Mini ! They will be just as much a pain in the butt and the run that sail.. They will only take 20- 25 years to work out the bugs, by then they will need to be rebuilt, If you are lucky hey will only have half the problems of the big sisters. Actually, that's the mysterious M/V Whatcom.

I said Whatcom, not Whatcom Chief. Well, if you want to get technical about it, there actually was a Whatcom at one time. She later became the Majestic and then the City of Bremerton. ;D

I talked to Bill Hunziker in Seattle to find out some information on the City of Clinton. It was built by Willis Nearhoff in Clinton. Hunziker said his shipyard was located on Berg Road in Clinton. Berg Road is south from from Ferry dock in Clinton.
Central and Central II were also some of the Ferries he built in Clinton. South Whidbey Historical Society had presentation of Ferryboat Now and Then about two weeks ago. A picture of the Central show up on the screen.

So here is a hypothetical boat. Staying along the lines of the Steilacoom II kind of but also taking ideas from the Queen of Capilano, such as higher sides on the car deck. If the ferry was only about the same width of the SE and almost as long as an Evergreen with a steal hull and car deck but with everything passenger deck and up was aluminum for weight. With a look that would make it almost like a modern Rhododendron. Wow, she looks like a smaller version of the Queen of Alberni before she was lifted!

Hay! If you design it with a single wheelhouse with the crew’s quarters underneath, plate over the openings on the superstructure along the vehicle deck and make any of the other changes it will needs to meet Canadian Coast Gaurd regulations. We will also have the design of the replacement vessels for BC Ferries’ North Island Princess, Powell River, Mayne and Bowen Queens. You can also design a smaller vessel with a 40 or 50 car capacity, but, same single wheelhouse superstructure as it four sisters ships, we will have the design for the new vessel for the Quadra-Cortes Island route. Thanks a lot for these drawnings whidbeyislandguy. Cosmic Ray.
