She's approaching the Tsawwassen terminal right now, and the AIS is now showing "Under way using engine".

The crews vehicles were parked along the outside lane of the MCD maybe they were to take a later sailing to Nanaimo to get their cars back to the island. That is, if the CR was spending the night at Tsawwassen. Perhaps that particular crew is disembarking so that a Swartz Bay crew can be brought over to give the CR some much-needed dock trials at Swartz Bay.

Ok just got home.
When I finally got to tsawwassen the CR was there. So I went over to take a look, and a crew member caught me getting a little closer than I should have, so I questioned him too. He said that they have a race car on the main vehicle deck and the guy said they were doing some PR/Marketing stunt tomorrow. Also a familiarization period.
I will post a longer description of my day tomorrow after I sleep
Cheers,

Excellent, I'm going down in to Vancouver in the next few mins. If she's still in Horseshoe Bay in 45 mins, I'll get photos!

She's turned starboard to pass south of Gambier Island. Perhaps going to Langdale?!?! Nope... Now she's going southbound in Collingwood Channel in an apparent circumnavigation of Bowen Island. And now she's headed for Burrard Inlet. And then...

Ah nuts! I was out playing golf at gleneagles earlier today. If I had known that she was going to HSB I would have gone down there since I was a stones throw away. Hopefully Chris had his opportunity to see her for the first time in HSB and get some photos. Just checked the webcam and looks like she's in Berth 1.

Once I had came around Doodsons Corner on the Sea to Sky Highway, I saw the CR following the shoreline up Howe Sound, and was on the Eastern side of the little Island just off of Horseshoe Bay. So I was able to turn off at Lions Bay to get the camera out. Damn, just as it turned on and had gotten the right capture, the batteries died. Not to worry, I had the video camera on me to film her roar past at around 12-15 knots. From the shore, you can't hear the helicopter chopping sound, but instead more of a roar like the Queen of the North would make. I'll try and post the video on youtube tonight.
My last spotting of her this afternoon, was her sailing in between Anvil Island and Doodsons Corner, which is about 5 mins south of Porteau Cove.

Ok, the race car. I didn't see it but I could hear it. They fired it up and revved it a few times and it definitely sounded like a high performance engine. 100% sure it wasn't a diesel or any other machinery engine.
I am a little confused myself after what the guy told me, and after todays events or lack thereof I am wondering if they were prepping for some other event. I wish I had pushed a little more to get the guy to show me it, and get a little proof.
Cheers,

According to Siitech, the MV Coastal Renaissance is currently out in the middle of Georgia Straight doing some sea trials. Probably conducting some emergency drills with crew, I suppose.

They got the profiles right. I was hoping they would have put the ferries into some kind of order that made sense like alphabetical or something.

Hey Brink, what classification society goes by "CM"?

There´s been lot of Confusion, we started with AB for ABS, then someone requested CM for Canadian Maritime, after that Transport Canada stated, that they don´t want to deal with that, so now it will be changed back to AB(s)...

I went through the Departure Bay terminal yesturday on the transit bus and I am suprised that the Coastal Renaissance is still tied up in Berth 1. Now since the Coquitlam has been put on the Langdale run I was thinking they would begin to dock her in Either Berth 3 or 2.
Anyway I went for a Quick ride to Descanso Bay yesturday on the Quinsam, Nothin new or noteworthy about the trip exept that during the ride over the Sea was as smooth as glass and it was a little foggy out.
