Her Brinkmann, I must say the speed of assembly is very impresive. I wonder how many subcontractors is involved in building modules? When Queen Mary II was build in France they used, if I remember corectly, 134 subcontractors for steelwork alone.

There is only one subcontractor building modules and that is our polish partner building the fore and aft part of the deckhouse. The rest of the modules was completely built at FSG. There are works generally subcontracted like painting and cleaning of the production buildings and offices.

Less than three months from launch now...I can't wait to see the lift of the supermodule on to hull! Markus, some of us have been crying in our beers over the fact that we can only see the daily photo because the overview photos section hasn't been established yet...and the module plan isn't up-to-date, too lol...I hear you know someone who might be able to fix that. ;D

I just had a look. The photo archives for the Northern Expedition don't even look like it. In fact, they are of the previous vessel.

06-30-2008 Good morning, everyone! And, a special good morning (or afternoon now) to Mr. Markus Brinkmann! We begin our work week watching another masterful module being set on the ways.

she looks kinda funny with that blunt looking bow. At least for now. By looking at the module plan, there should be one last forward module to be placed before the next layers of modules are placed over the ones we see. Mr. Brinkmann can tell us more on this. The geometrically shaped module you see in the foreground will probably be for the rudders. This'll probably be flipped before installation at the aft end.

Which website are we talking about here? When Markus posted a couple of days ago to mention the update, he didn't specify which website he was talking about. I assumed he was talking about the FSG website, but I haven't found those photos. So is he talking about his personal photo website that some of you have bookmarked from a previous time? Is he talking about the personal photo website that he linked earlier in reply #181. (ps: I'm not playing "picky-dumb" here, I'm honestly confused, as I thought he was talking about a photo archive on the FSG website; and I can't find it....

Markus was responding to my whining about the FSG site not being up-to-date regarding the Nor Ex's daily photos and module plan. ;D Hope that helps with your confused outlook!

re "daily photos", is this just the live-action-shot of the indoor assembley hall that you're talking about (you know, the left-hand-side picture in the Webcam page on the FSG website).
Or is there a daily-photo archive somewhere on the FSG website that I'm missing?
I check the webcam image every day or so, to follow the progress. Is this what people are talking about?
(thanks for walking me through this, Jon - excessive verbosity is appreciated, although a bullet would be cheaper, wouldn't it.... ;D ;D) (I think I just channeled someone....ooops)

Somebody complained about missing daily photo archive. It was updated and you now can find it. MY album will not be updated daily. Sometimes I have to work :-) Sorry for double posting, I hit the quote instead of the modify button...

Thanks Markus, for explaining, and showing on those 2 screen-shots. I've just learned something new: I wasn't aware that there was a slide-show archive on the currently-being-built ship in the slipway.
--------
ps: Markus: you do have the power to delete your own double post. So besides being sorry about it, you can actually remove it to. Or you can decide to just be sorry, but to also leave it up.
Choice, that's what Canada gives you ! ;D

Coastal Drought try clearing your cache, or emptying your temporary internet files. If you want to know how to do that ask. Under tools basically and empty all your temp files. Websites will load slower until you visit each of them again and it may erase some of your passwords so you will have to re-enter them as you go to various sites. But it frees up memory for you as well. All depends on what options you click. What is happening is your computer is loading up the website from the last time you were there and not looking for updates. This is a good exercise to do every so often anyways. The module in the foreground I believe is where the shafts exit the hull and the propellors get installed. The bulbous bow is to be installed infront of the last section above. I should qualify that though in that Flensburger assembles things so quickly it could be there already since I looked .

I should qualify that though in that Flensburger assembles things so quickly it could be there already since I looked . As said in a previous entry in this thread, that module in the foreground should be for the rudders. I think those are rudder shafts you see sticking up. Meanwhile, overnight, we saw another filler module being moved into place. The central core of the ship is where the most meticulous parts are installed, like the machinery, pumps, and almost anything else that contributes in running her.
