Or just cancel the last roundtrip from Duke Point seeing those sailings wouldent be too busy! I sure would hate to be working on the Esquimalt tonight!

arrving at Duke Point at 3:20am then leaving on the first sailing at 5am 1hr and 20mins of down time. That's crazy! Well, on the actual departures page it shows the Esquimalt was scheduled to leave Tsawwasen at 0100h but left later and completed the trip in eleven minutes at 0455h! Obviously an error, anybody know the correct times? The Esquimalt left Duke Point at 0511h due to an 11 minute operational delay as the website shows but since then, it is on time. Did the Saanich get filled up last night for its last trip leaving TSA? If it did, I sure do feel sorry for the people who had to take the Esquimalt to Duke Point. Talk about an all nighter!

be a nice easy night for the graveyard shift engineers sitting at duke point waiting for her to get in. although it would then be a rushed job once she was there

..... well, we bandied this around on another thread! ;D So I guess here we go --- this is almost pretty damn close to a 24h schedule. Let's beat the snot out of what transpired here and see what we can do with it. Oh yeah, where's that other spare vessel to use so that we don't run one or two too hard... MLU, Refit, etc.... drats. UIAUTIBC :-) Let's see anyone other than a maintenance tech figure that one out!

Herg was just about to post that but you beat me by 3 minutes. If anyone has to get home tonight they will have a long drive from Duke Point to get to Victoria. Will be interesting to see how the Esquimault fills up or not. Will be long past my bedtime though.

This is exactly why I am getting fed up with route 1. It is always so damn busy! I dont know why there would be waits during the week even with the Saanich on the run it's rediculas! Stick to route 30!

It is Thursday today, so the Vancouver is sailing as the #2 boat out of Swartz Bay for two round trips. It is surprising to see how busy route one has been this past week. Maybe the Vancouver should be doing a daily except Saturday trip at 1600h from SWB with the SOVI being out.
Somehow, I don't see the Esquimalt getting close to 100% vehicle capacity with the Saanich filling up. Although, a lot more underheights are probably on the upper car deck for its midnight trip back to Duke Point.

Don't the Saanich and Esquimalt hold the same amount of cars because they don't use the platform decks?

Route 1 is sold out as of 8:10pm tonight. Will they do an extra round trip? Route 2 is at 87%.

haha! I was gonna catch the 9pm last night of TSA but when I passed the sign on the highway it said 91% at like 7:40pm. I got to the toll booth and the lady asked me if I had a reservation I said no and she said there is no garantee that I would make the 9pm so I ended up taking the 8:15pm to Duke Point with Scott last night and driving down from there! I know a few other people were sent to the Duke Point ferry as I heard some people talking about in the Cafeteria. Anyone know if there was a 10pm added last night?? I asked the ticket agent and she said there wasent at the time. An upside to going route 30 home last night as it was pretty much almost free for me as I used my $25.00 gift certificate with the coastsaver only had to pay like $4 for the rest.

Graham (Tsawwassen Terminal) went and caught the 11:50pm sailing out of Tsawwassen last night. Once he arrived at the other end around 2:30am, he walked from Duke Point to Nanaimo. He should be in Powell River now, after hitchhiking, and taking the transit buses to Comox.

Does anyone know if a 10pm sailing from TSA to SB was added last night??? When I went through they said there wasent but I would think if the 9pm was full before 8 they would add an extra unless they just want everyone to fill up the Duke Point ferries! lol!

Can't wait to hear his side of the story ;D

Going to be interesting if they can't get the Vancouver fixed tonight. She is still taking over for the Esquimalt tomorrow, then on Thursday she is doing the extra sailings on Route 1. They are running out of boats.

Better tell Germany to increase that SuperC order to 5.

Looks like Route 1 is going to sell out tonight. As of 5:30pm, the 7pm is sold out and the 9pm is 50% full. The Vancouver will be doing a deadhead run to Swartz tonight, wonder if they will load her up?

Route 1 is joke right now! The 9pm as of 6:45pm is like 90% full! Better have another sailing. But probably not, BC Ferries just wants to fill up the Duke Point boats so they wont add extras to Victoria! They will make everyone go via Nanaimo!

Better tell Germany to increase that SuperC order to 5. You know, if things carry on as they are, I would not be at all suprised if somewhere down the line closer to the completion of the project, that there _COULD_ be an additonal order placed. But then again, what do I know?

well it's happened! 7:30pm and route 1 from TSA is sold out! WTF, it is a Wednesday night there shouldent be waits! Yeah, my thoughts too as I was monitoring this from work. I don't really understand these traffic patterns all of a sudden!! As was pointed out, it's a WEDNESDAY. The only thing that I can thing of, in my industry, is that it is MONTH END and there might be a whole pile of moving trucks lined up to get on over to the rock. I know for sure that there were 10 straight trucks (5-7 tons, approx 32-38' each) that were headed over from agents that I deal with. I know that some company trailers were spotted down to Seaspan. But still. There is no excuse for BCFS to leave people waiting outside the terminals. Even with a Spirit down, they'd best run what they need to clear the traffic, even if it means an OT sailing or an extra boat. Again, what do I know though, I am not The Corp.

Do the regular contributors feel that BCFS is trying to funnel traffic off route 1 and onto route 30 with these early sell outs and long potential waits? Is it really coincidence, or is there some deeper subplot?
Opinions, flames, thoughts, insight, and random musings are all welcomed! ;D
