Route 1 was also sold out from Swartz Bay tonight. Yes, the Saanich is doing a 2000h trip and 2200h from Tsawassen. Looks like the return trip might be busy as well. Three hours before its departure and it is already 12% full.
As for Dep Bay, the 2100h is only 60% capacity and at Duke Point the 2015 is almost full and the 2245h is 65% capacity.

One thing you guys need to remember is that at Departure Bay they only count the cars past the toll booths for how full the sailing is. Once those cars sitting there get in, the sailing fills up real fast. The 9pm out of Departure Bay is already full. Duke Point is pretty backed up at this point, looks like people headed over there.

Weird thing at Tsawwassen, it showed the Queen of Saanich was at 70% capacity for the 2200h. Then, about fifteen minutes ago it dropped back to 53%. Did the SOVI drop both its ramps and take on more traffic? The SOVI left at 2137h.

re Route-2:
Right now, the BCFS website shows both the Esquimalt & the OakBay arriving at HSB at 22:56 and 22:59.......so presumably that means they both arrive at same time, and use the only 2 operational berths at HSB ?
The vessel-tracking screen on the BCFS website shows Esquimalt at 17.5 knts, and Oakie at 20.8 knts.....Oakie is behind, but closing fast.

Well the Capilano is just coming into HSB now too. The Capilano stays at HSB overnight I think. So will they move her or the Oak Bay will have to wait for the Esquimalt to leave.

I should have an answer for this tomorrow night. I've got a contact who worked on the Esquimalt last night.....a very late Thanksgiving Monday night.

If the Capilano can't stay at HSB then she berths at Snug Cove and the crew is water taxi'd home, that's why the last sailing isn't published.

2 sail wait from HSB so the only open sailling is the 9pm. Same for Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay, geez, looks like Duke Point is a very good alternative. Where is the Esquimalt? in refit?

and no airlines between Vancouver and Victoria which would be why there was waits for foot passengers today. Freezing are big toes off waiting in line cause they cant process everyone till the previous sailing has left! Crazy at TSA today!

Yes, it was very busy tonight (Sunday night) on route 2. I didn't realize it was an American holiday. That's probably a better explanation than mine - it was the weekend following Valentines Day:) That might have also played a factor. I was on the 7PM from Departure Bay and it was very full - way more than the usual walk-ons as well - most of whom probably wen't Americans. The traffic wasn't spilling out onto the street, but the vehicle holding compound was almost completely full. I didn't get down to the lower car deck so I'm not sure whether they maxed out on passenger capacity before they filled the car decks - probably not.

A busy Monday night on Route 1 and a late night for route 30. The 1900h trip on both sides of route 1 were full and delayed 20 minutes. The 2100h from Tsawwassen is already 77% full (Queen of Saanich). The Esquimalt is 75 minutes behind schedule due to the earlier required inspections and an accumulation of small operational delays during the afternoon. www.bcferries.com/schedules/notices/notice02190702.htmlThat means the last sailing from TSA will be at 0100h. Ouch.

I am suprised that the Esquimalt is sailing the scheduald 6:30pm trip. Normally when it is this late they would remain at Tsawwassen untill the 11:50pm trip so they would not have over time.
