Looking at all the tarps on the boat deck of the Queen of Burnaby, surely they must be rennovating that area for a reason. I mean, I can't see them doing all that work up there, only to have her return to work & still not beling allowed to go up there. I bet when she returns, you'll be able to go up to the boat deck lounges now - FINALLY!

Maybe they are.
Hey PR Queen Kid, when are you going on the Burn next?

they are replacing some steel decking that had to be done on the burnaby. she might be getting evacuation slides on her next refit. that is what they are going to place on the nanaimo

That should help with the passenger capacity ;D Thats probably why she was kept in longer

i don't think she is getting the slides on this refit. she will be going in for a longer refit in the next year and i think they started on some of it now by doing the structural parts

Then they'll have to schedule it for right after this years holiday season. so the Tsawwassen doesn't have to do PR-Comox at the busy times of year (spring break)

When I get my cleaning gear ($250 later) mid next week, I will clean her up and head to the sea bus area (assume that's where it is) and drop a hundreds photos. How often should I go down their to get updated photos (as things change) I am willing to go down as often as needed during my 3 weeks out of every 4 in Vancouver.

Well I know, myself-personally I live about 10 blocks west of Lonsdale Quay, & I see the Oak Bay every day, so it's not really an issue for me, however I WOULD love it if somebody could get some INSIDE pics of her, possibly an employee? (Hello? anyone listening?-lol)

That was a close one with the Oaky if those fire windows had been installed at the front that would be horrible

I agree. Fire windows don't suite any ferry, unless its the 'Wack. They go well with her structure of metal boxes.

In fact the Wack could use them but with the Tsawwassen it was a real mistake to put them at the front of the ship

I actually think the fire windows on the SOBC are actually quite nice. They dont have the two things that go down the middle of the windows, like in this photo piritofritisholumbiahotos.fotopic.net/p13242186.htmlYou can both the normal window and the fire windows. The fire windows look smaller but I dont think they look that bad really.

Yes there is one welcome aboard sign like on the Cowichan and Coquitlam. On the SOBC it's in the forward lounge. You would be able to see it as soon as you walk on at Tsawwassen and go through the front doors it's there on the front wall. That is one photo I forgot to get. I also noticed there is no SOBC name on the wall in the Cafeteria above where the reserved crew tables are in the center of the Cafeteria.
