The only way to get out of here (not including the Texada run) is Saltery Bay on the Tsawwassen and Chilliwack, and on the Burnaby from Westview Terminal those are our only services out of here I was thinking we need a alternate route out of here to Cortes and get to Campbell River like the Kwuna's route gets privitised or the Albions gets moved to BCF put ramps on them and start a route from Lund to Cortes

What they should do is build a bridge from Earls Cove to Saltery Bay then that would free up those vessels and have the Chilliwack could also run the PR route and like you said have it free out of Powell River. I guess you could say Powell River is sort of like and island as the only was south you have to take a ferry and to get to the Vancouver Island you have to take a ferry. Build a bridge and then use the Chilliwack to go from Powell River to Cortes Island. Or another smaller ship. Have a high speed car/passenger ferry from PR to Naniamo. That would be neat.

I agree with you. Is it free going out of Saltery Bay? I know it is if you're going out of Langdale. It ain't free at Saltery Bay but it is free at Earls Cove so thats fair for that run

Now if they did that from Nanaimo that wouldn't work with PR-Comox by car you can access all the Island but a passenger only service would work by either using the Harbourlynx or BCF to run it. If they used the Chilliwack for that they would have to modify her back to her original look when she first joined the fleet (personally I think she looked better in her original form) so she can access land because lund might not have enough room for a ship like that so who knows if that would work with the Chilli in Lund they would need a better location if they used the Chilli and as for a bridge from Saltery Bay to Earls Cove (or vice versa) it's a good idea that would only take close to 10 minutes to cross if they did it they would need the ferry for alternate service if the bridge ever collapsed or had major construction done to it the bridge is their best bet for that route

langdale is not actually free. you pay for a round trip when you pay at horseshoe bay. just like on saltspring, you don't pay at vesuvius or fulford but you do pay a round trip at the toll booth at crofton and swartz bay

I asked a few crew members including the head captain about the Burnaby replacing the Nanaimo next year. No one has heard anything about it. It is quite obviously a false rumor. ;D Also the upper deck (outside only) is now open.

Yes, it was for the whole afternoon shift. It's a good thing that we both love going on the Burnaby! ;D Even if I hated it I would still take him because he loves it and it makes him happy. I wish I could take him on more ferries. I don't drive so we only get to go on other ferries besides the Burnaby if my dad and/or my stepmom take us.

Huh - that's strange. I wonder why they supposedly did all that work to the boat deck lounges if they're not using them then

They didn't do work to the lounges. They replaced the steel on the outer deck.
