I've wanted to do the terminal theme for a while now, and it was recently suggested again by Ship-Rider 16. But I will make a few rules to follow so here goes:
Rule 1: The photo must be of the terminal or part of the terminal. There may be a ferry in the photo, but it can't be the object of the photo. The terminal should be in the foreground. We may have a bit of difficulty defining this rule, so any suggestions on how to better clarify it would be appreciated.
Rule 2: This month's photos will be restricted to the 6 major terminals (Tsawwassen, Swartz Bay, Duke Point, Horseshoe Bay, Departure Bay, and Langdale). Hopefully in the future we can do minor terminals or Gulf Island terminals etc.
And the normal rules for your reference:
The maximum dimensions accepted are 960 x 240. The minimum dimensions are 840 x 200.
Please post a copy of your entry in reduced size (less than 800 pixels wide) with a link to the larger, full sized image.
Nominations will be accepted until 10:00PM, Wednesday October 29th. Voting will take place on October 30 and 31st... a little extra time since some people may be busy on the 31st.

3. this one is debatable for eligibility. Yes, this is a good example of what I hope to avoid. Notwithstanding that it's a great photo, this is more a photo of the Coastal Celebration than of Departure Bay ferry terminal. Makes it tough.. I know;)

Here's my first entry. It's Tsawwassen taken from the SOVI. That's the QoNW on the right, just before going in for her never-ending refit. full size located here*edit: Since fotopic has been acting up over the past few days, and doesn't seem to be willing to address the issue, I am in the process of moving all my photos to photobucket. This flagship entry is the first to be moved over.

John: I encourage you to consider setting up the poll as a secret-ballot. I received lots of positive feedback re the use of this in last month's polls. No problem. In the interest of improving the democratic process on this forum, I will do this. Unfortunately there is only one seat up for grabs so proportional representation will have to wait;) And before anyone gets any ideas.. this forum will remain a dictatorship ruled by appointed unpaid magistrates;)

When the time comes to step asside, copy Putin. Become Prime Minister with a hand picked puppet President. Speaking of Russia or at least being able to spy it from yer porch, go the presidential model route, appoint a VP fer all the Hockey Moms and Sixpack Joe's who are on the forum. Oops never mind there are no term limits either here . OK nevermind if it ain't broke don't fix it. And if need be follow the example closer to home, get some duct tape and bailing wire and do a Red Green.

I was under the impression only photos of the major terminals were eligible.

I was under the impression only photos of the major terminals were eligible. Nice photos though, even if they don't follow the rules.

I almost did the same thing. But then I read the rules just before I was going to upload them. I had my current sig of Earls Cove and Whaletown (Cortes Island) Set Up. Oh well, they'll get their chance soon.

For full size, click on the picture. That was the oddest thing ever. Watching the Cowichan pull into Tsawwassen with a blanket of snow in April is very weird. Cheers,

That was some pretty incredible weather... closed the No.1 over the Port Mann bridge for most of the day.
I don't want to discredit Newflyer, but that snow scene may suffer from a little too much Coastal Inspiration like the other one did. The angle is so wide that it's hard to tell what is the focal point of that view, and it's hard to tell that there is even a terminal though, but only because it's so well camouflaged. But I'll let the mods decide whether that image really has the terminal in the foreground or not. It's so easy to give in to the tempation of wanting every photo to have a ferry right in the center.

Great photos, but....
Sorry Canucks, I don't think those are going to fly... too many Celebrations (and Cowichans) happening in the "foreground".
