Good work, Nicola.
Thanks for the message, thanks for taking the time to do the work, and thanks for the efforts to make it look authentic as a BC Ferry.
Bravo !

The management at BCFS's just might want to use this in the kid's section of the gift shops. It really is very good. Perhaps, ferrygirl, you could do us up some winter olympic mascots?

Merry Christmas, BC Ferry Fans! Great drawing, ferrygirl! Thanks for bringing such merry Christmas cheer from the UK (Though not close enough to count, my sister is now in her 30th year with a birthday on the 6th. She as any December baby doesn't like having to celebrate so close to the other important time of the year for presents, but she'd still much rather mix it up with Christmas than the École Polytechnique massacre)

Ooh sure I'd love to. what kind of designs did you have in mind? I believe that was sarcasm. The Vancouver 2010 mascots were recently unveiled, and lots of folks don't like their look. So the person here was joking that you should have done it instead...... see www.winter2010.com/, and click on the right-side where it says "meet the mascots". Let us know what you think. Remember that this is Western Canada, on the Pacific Coast. So based on what you, as a typical world-citizen, knows about our British Columbia region, let us know if you think these mascots are a good representation, or not.

If I had seen that sooner I may have asked permission to use that as my Christmas card . Great drawing, BC Ferries should buy the rights from you for next year.

...and thanks for the efforts to make it look authentic as a BC Ferry. Shouldn't there be a "Sorry, not in Service" sign hanging off it somewhere then?

I posted this last year on Christmas Eve so I will post it again a little earlier this year. I little Poem I found in one of the old Dolphin Newsletters. It's a neat little poem. A little christmas poem T'WAS the night before CHRISTMAS and all through the fleet The ships were tied up, every sailing complete All the stockings were hung by the funnels with care In the hope that Saint Nicholas soon would be there Then to what the crews' amazement appeared But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer The jolly old driver looked kind of distressed In fact this old Santa seemed downright depressed "I'm looking for help," he said to the crew "My reindeer are tired and my sleigh's broken too To get to the islands, there's only one way I hope BC Ferries can help save the day" The crew said, "Okay, we can sure island-hop But we think your request should go straight to the top" As I and the missus were getting ready for bed The crew phoned are home about the man dressed in red "Of course we'll help out," said I to the crew "It's customer service, the least we can do!" Soon they were busy delivering toys For our men and our women it brought so much joy And througout the islands, what a wonderful sight As the SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS sailed through the night. My source, BC Ferries Dolphin Newsletter December 1998 Lets make a toast to the Sonia! Welcome her to BC her new home, and to all the people working on her to get her ready for service! Cheers to all!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! Went to Christmas Eve sevice with a boys choir, bells and pipe organ. Had our French Canadian Tortiere for dinner and a trifle. (both English and French traditions combined - even though now one in the family is French - we just like it.) Everyone is in bed except for my brother and I who are watching our traditional late Christmas Eve Christmas Carol. Has to be the orginal Alister Sim version in black and white even. This year we got the DVD version so we don't have to endure the commercials and stay up even later. I hope you are all enjoying your own traditions and customs with your families and friends.

Merry Christmas everyone. or in my British family traditions "Happy Chrismas" we also make a tradition of watching National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, and Ernest Saves Christmas. (2 of my favorite holiday movies) Best wishes over the holidays, and a happy newyear. Cheers- Kev

Currently at my Grandmothers house in Kamloops at the moment. Spent the day down in Kelowna today helping my parents pick out a house. Driving down via Highway 97 through Vernon was pretty uneventful. There's about 4 or 5 inches of dry snow on the ground, with a temperature of about -3 degrees Celcius at night and +4 degrees Celcius during the day. In my family, Christmas is all about spending time with all of your family and eating lots and lots of good food. I've been doing just that all weekend, and enjoying every bit of it.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night, as someone once said.
or
Happy Festivus, whatever it may be.....

I've been stuck here that is what these times are for, to gather with friends and share time together and be together. It is great and I enjoy getting together with friends I used to see twice a week I only get to seem them now. It is great to do it all over again. Get away from school and such. All of you enjoy your Christmas and have happy sailings into the new year.
