So what is going to happen to the Klitsa? She'll probably still be used when the Kuper is not on the route somewhere else. The Kuper you might say is the Minor Route's version of the Queen of Tsawwassen. Since she's on one route in the summer and all over the place in the winter.

She will be a relief vessel, same with the Klatawa and Kulleet when they are bought by BC Ferries

I wonder if we will ever see the Kuper, Klista, Kaloke or even Tachek operating as a third vessel on the Swartz Bay to Southern Gulf Islands route!

Oh, by the way, the signal flags didn't appear to spell anything in plain English (or even French). At least not according to my rusty knowledge of them.

Maybe the signal flags didn't mean anything to us primitive humans, but to... the Mole People they could've meant a whole host of terrifying phrases! WE'RE ALL DOOMED!! WAAAAAH!

I sort of figured they were meaningless as the NL flag was intertined in them two or three times.

the flags do mean something, they are used to communicate with other ships. Used mostly with deep sea vessels

ferrytraveller: yep, I know that's what they're for (I've used them a few times in signal drills at college), but these didn't seem to say anything in plain language is all I said. And I didn't have my handy copy of H.O. 102 to check, but since most signal hoists are only 4-5 flags in length, I figured it was probably just "dressed ship."

now that we know that the MV Kuper will be operating on the Chemanius-Theits-Kuper Island does anyone know how long it takes to sail from Chemanius to Theits Island?

As I had suspected, the name was likely only placed on the corner of the ship facing the paying, err - umm, 'official' audience of the launch only... hmm, what's missing from this picture?
