Not a good idea to bring cats in to the passenger area of a plane, especially for people with allergies, like myself. I'm severely allergic to Cats.

Yeah that's true. I dont think it is that important that someone has to bring a cat onboard for a 90 min flight! Not a good idea!

except for the below freezing temperatures in the cargo hold. Pets die all the time on planes in the cargo hold. and screw our allergies I love cats.

Screw our allergies? Is that a joke? Some people will get hives and end up choking and dying because of these animals. So...it's us or them. A low chance for either of us but if one must die, it would be the pet. Besides, animals like cats claw up seats and furniture and piss and sh1t all over everything (ESPECIALLY DOGS). Dogs, once they start pissing on something, another dog comes along and pisses on it and then the other dog comes back and pisses on it again.

Why would someone bring their cat with them on a flight? The only reason I could think of is if they're moving. If they love their cat enough to move them a far distance, they should take the bus.
Would a cat go through the x-ray machine or get the wand? If the cat is a Persian, would it get profiled in the States? Amusing questions to ponder!

Okay Heres Harbourlynx's Official Policy Involving Pets
Large Animals: Must Be kept outside and In the Locked Pet Carriers Small Animals: Must Be kept in a owner provided cage, at the rear of the ship INSIDE Birds, Can Be Kept Out if the owner likes, as long as they dont annoy other passengers

Don't forget about all the Hanky Panky that could happen if pets were allowed to walk on the passenger decks......

My dad is allergic to Long haired dogs, but his worst allergy would be horses, my allergies are only something in the Forest, I get asthma.

This is a very important point.
BCF tries to encourage walk-on traffic. They are right. If we leave our cars at the terminal parking lot, we enjoy tiny fares, instant boarding and a stress-free trip.
Many of us have dogs, who are often the reason for a day or weekend away. Three years now, I have enjoyed BCF travel with our two smallish (20-lb) dogs.
Easy trips from our mainland home are HB-Langdale (and on to Keats and Gambier) and HB-Bowen. Cross-Georgia sailings are a snoopy the dog.
Have you guys seen the cold, cramped dog pen on the Cow and Coq? Well, I'm taking our Bo to Nanaimo tomorrow morning (again) from HB for a day trip to Gabriola. With luck, there'll be a light load.
We will be restricted to Deck 2, but may be able to run around, sniff a bit, and meet other well-behaved mutts down in the dark.
Pooping and peeing are bogus complaints. Adult dogs poop and pee like humans, predictably. Good dog companions know when they are due, and are ready to pick up or mop up as needed.
BCF could be courageous. BC Ferries could allow dogs on the open decks, leashed and under supervision.

lol...I think Harbourlynx May even be getting ready to develop a pet area onboard the ship, where pets can be kept insted of being held outside.

Yike! I posted " problem" and it came back as "pregnant dog" Board filter. Certain words get changed regardless of the context they're used in. I think all Proboards forums have them. -- LB

Yeah it's weird when it does that, when you type S-a-l-t-w-a-t-e-r all together, it comes out like Saltwater

I like dogs better! More friendly and playful! I saw that cause our cat always looks so miserable and pissed off!

My little kitten is so cute and playful, she won't be now though because she is in a cardboard box, to be taken to the vets for some kind of tablets.

She is so cute. Her name is Bootsie, we called her that because she has little socks on her hind paws, it looks like, because they are white.

Keep this mutt off the ferries! As seen on Skeena Queen in May, he smiles too much, and charms the dog-less passengers (especially women): On MV Quinsam last week, wet, sandy and dozing: On the mainline boats, banished to the cramped, cold Deck 2 dog pen (this is Surrey):

Why? He's cute and looks very young, anyway, if he was on the Quinsam the same time as me, I would have probably asked to stroke him, my sister would have done so too!
