Yeah I think they are towing her to the Washington Marine Group, where they are going to do the investigation!

The Oak Bay is being towed as of now to Vancouver Dry dock. I was glued to the scanner all day.
Why wasn't the anchor droped?

Big story and subject, of course it would.
They had not even 3 minutes to decide what to do, do you think they would run to the anchor and drop it the second the engine turns off? I always thought she was really quiet on the upper car deck for engine noise.
Did anyone see the part on BCTV news where they showed some of the accidents with BCF? They even showed when the Coq crashed due to loseing power coming into Horseshoe Bay in 95, but hit the dock head on ( the first bumper that is, not where the ramps are) and that was an incedent I didn't know about. They even showed the ramp after the Newwest left the dock at Departure Bay too early and a van driving off the upper ramp. But they did miss a few accidents, now that I think of it, they have accidents every 2 or 3 years or so from what I can see.

Tsawwassen still a 4 sailing wait! Only 4 sailings left! Departure Bay no waits at all. Horseshoe Bay a 1 sailing wait! Now route 2 isent all that busy cause everyone is at Tsawwassen now! Swartz Bay lot is empty, everyone is lined up outside! Tsawwassen still seems to be full. I thought every ferry coming in would move some of the traffic out but I guess people are lined up outside and down the causeway!

Current conditions are messed up as they have the Cowichan listed as the 9:30 from Departure Bay and the 9:25 from Horsehoe Bay. The Departure Bay 9:30 should be the Coquitlam!

Now they have added a 11:50pm Mayne Queen sailing to Pender Island. Looking on the webcams it looks like still 1 lane for the gulf islands. I guess that run was pretty busy! Tsawwassen seems to have cleared up now as it looks like all the vehicles left for Swartz Bay will probably get on the 10pm. And from Swartz Bay it looks pretty good to for the 10pm. I can san say now the midnight sailing from Swartz Bay is going to be dead! Maybe even the 10pm will be empty as I dont think they have loaded the 9pm yet. Actually I dont even know if they will need a 10pm and midnight from Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen. If they dont they should put some of those Duke Point people on the 10pm to Swartz Bay cause I dont know if the Alberni will take them all at 10:45 as it still says a 1 sailing wait! Then run the Vancouver empty back to Tsawwassen as I am sure the Mayne Queen will be empty coming back from Pender!

If I am correct they wont need a 10pm from Swartz Bay but they will need a 10pm from Tsawwassen on the Queen of Vancouver so we will just see what happens!
Looks like the Capilano is running behind about 90 mins!

Did anyone see that other angle from the beach of the Oak Bay smashing through the marina? I think that was on CTV, and I think the person used a digital camera or something because the sound of the horn is messed up. |

They used a Point and Shoot Digital Camera's video mode to capture the second angle. and I wonder why when I got up at 11:50AM the first thing I did was come here...weird.

Yeah, the second I entered my password to login I was getting phone calls from all of my friends saying what happened and then I clicked on the this subject and noticed that it had actually happened.

They showed the videos from a resident of Horseshoe Bay from higher up looking down as she came into the marina! I just saw on the american station at 10 they showed what happend too!

yeah this is bigger than the Queen of Surrey fire! ok well the Queen of Saanich left at 10:17 for Tsawwassen so I guess she is doing another roundtrip! The Queen of Vancouver hasent left Tsawwassen yet!
