Well it is this time of the year again. Does anyone have any summer trips planned???
Hey Dan, maybe you can answer this for me, what I would like to do this summer is take the Anacortes ferry across from Sidney then drive to Keystone. Now if we took the 11:20am sailing from Sidney I would think we could do the Port Townsend Ferry right away then get to Port Angeles that night, what do you think?? Then from Port Angeles around by Neah Bay down through Forks, see a bit of the coast route maybe along there. We had though of going a ways into Oregon and down the coast but maybe we will just stick with Washington then zip back into the BC Okanagan and back! What would be the best route coming from the Washington Coast up into BC. We had thought of going up and coming out in Osoyoos, or there is near Grand Forks I think a border crossing. Do you have any suggestions or anyone of any good routes to take??

Karl, after going down the coast, you could head inland to the Vancouver/Portland area and take rte. 84 along the Columbia River to the Tri-cities area. From there you can head north through Spokane and enter B.C. at Christina Lake which is 13 miles east of Grand Forks.

Yes I was thinking of that or going up through Yakima and Wenatchee and into BC by Osoyoos! One of those two routes we will probably do! Anyone know how long it is to drive from Anacortes to Keystone?? I dont think it is that far, maybe like an hour I would say!

I've done that route before! It was awesome! On one side of the river was rolling desert hills, amd the other side was flat desert land, for some parts that is. I'm gonna be going down to Portland in the next few weeks and go camping all over Oregon. But there is no ferries involved, I miss living on the Island...

yeah, there are no ferries to take if you are from the mainlland, take one of the Seattle ferries across then continue on down from there or zip up to BC and take some inland ferries on the way back! I hope we get some better weather. Hopefully by mid August when we are planning on going it will be nicer!

Notmuchlonger, or Chris, where did you stay when you went down there?? What cities?? Are there any good places in Aberdeen or Astoria, or Longview to stay in those areas?? Or are the bigger cities like Vancouver or Portland better?? From Port Angeles we dont know how far we would get so that is why I am asking!

When I went to Portland, we just went from Ladysmith on the Island and then caught the 8:30 ferry from Departure Bay then went straight from Horseshoe Bay to Portland in one day which took most of the day because we took our time. But I didn't stay in any hotels or anything because we were going to see my Aunt. Then we went along the Columbia River and then crossed by Kennewick and then we didn't bother taking the I90 to Yakima so we took a another road, I'm not sure what it's called but we stopped in a place called Lind. It was a really interesting, it's a small village and barely anyone has cars and it's basically in the middle of nowhere. We didn't even see anyone walking down the streets. It was basically a ghost town. But there's sign all over the place for the best place in the world for Wheat Greator Destruction Derbys. So we left about 10 minutes later after driving down every road looking for a bathroom, then we drove through Spokecan and then up through the border at Trail and then continued up to New Denver to stay at my Grandparents Cabin. Then we came back a few days later and managed to catch the 3:00pm ferry from Horseshoe Bay which turned out to come in at 3 and left at 3:45. It was late because of that Flipped over fishing boat on the mouth of the Fraser if anyone remembers. But we managed to skip around having to stay at hotels and managed to just hop scotch to the families houses. But it made for very long days and you wouldn't want to continue the next day with another full day of driving too anyway. Woah I just made a whole trip story and Karl just wanted to know where I stayed. lol. Oh well, sorry guys.

I'm heading up to Adams Lake on Friday now. I just found this out last night. I can't wait, we have nice log cabin right on the lake, and I think we have a canoe. It's going to be Dopesauce!

I would guess 5-8 hours maybe, that's only a guess. I'm going to Portland Oregon on Saturday and then camping all over Oregon for a week or two, so you guys would hear from me for a couple of weeks.

Hey are going down the coast? If you do, you should stay in a yurt, they're like these little round cabins with elctricity and heating, and with bunk beds. I stayed in one on a choir trip 2 years ago, just 1/2 a mile south of Florence, Oregon.

Where abouts is that??? We are only going down as far as Astoria Oregon as we only have about a week to do it! This is our intinery is to take the ferry from Sidney to Anacortes, probably stay in Anacortes then from there to Keystone and the ferry across to Port Townsend then out to Port Angeles the second night! From there down and around the coast hopefully make it to Astoria Oregon that day! Then from there out to Wenatchee for that night, next day back up and cross into BC by Osoyoos and just spend 3 nights in the Okanagan then back home! I would love to to go all the way down the coast of Oregon and California but we just dont have the time so we are gonna just do a sample of the coast route!

Really? That sounds interesting! Depending on the weather, we're going on the coast. I'll be getting photos and letting you guys know what happened when I come back. But I'm sure alot of you won't really care that much as there is no plan for any ferries. But I will be taking the camera everywhere, and if there's any sight of ferries, there will be at least one picture of it. But I'm still not exactly sure where we are going, and we're going to play it all by ear. So it should be interesting. Who knows, we might come across staying in one of those Yurts!

Also, I should be getting on the BC Ferries again around the end of the month (July) and this time I will make sure I will bring my camera this time!! Unlike how I left it beside the spot I loaded up my backpack and then rushed to the Greyhound Stop on Friday..

Hey, I forgot about that, I guess they would be suspicious of photos being taken around transportation areas or wherever because of the London incedent, and 911.

A trip on the Nanny again this summer, another trip to Canada Place! In September another Vancouver day trip plus the Positioning cruise October 1st and another Horseshoe Bay trip to get on the Oaky and Surrey as I never went today as planned!
