Could anyone give me more details...all i know is that a freighter named Serge Yessenin colided with it in 1970 due to fog...where did the accident occur? Was it Active Pass? and whose fault was it? And a little off topic, why was the Queen of Victora sold and not the Vancouver?

I think she had too many accidents, they got tired of the engine room fire so they sold it, like the smokwa.

The Accident did take place in Active Pass and I think it was the freighter operator's fault.

You'd probably be dead. 3 passengers died in that accident.

Ya, unfortunately those WERE Canadians onboard that freightor (how could Canadians be so dumb?). Apparently freightors stop in Victoria to let the pilot on before heading into Roberts Bank, Fraser Surrey Docks or Burrard.

I think at least 2 of them were on the car deck. I can't really remember, but my parents kept a copy of the newspaper with those same pictures that are above and there was stories in it with what happened that day like how the Province did a bunch of pictures of the Queen of Surrey fire. I really want to find that newspaper again that i have of the Queen of Victoria almost cut in half, better start going through all of my stuff. |

You'd probably be dead. 3 passengers died in that accident. My understand was this is why they don't like people staying on the car deck as the only people killed where a women breast feeding her baby on the car deck. |

I saw Seaspan Doris in there (Active Pass) when on Spirit of BC.
And I was at the helm of Queen of Vancouver This Evening for a few minutes. The highlight of my life so far.
