Awesome!! They got the little green walkways off of the sides of her passenger decks now. Looks like they're gonna be painting her in the next couple of weeks. Looks like they've finnished the inside now, and maybe all they need to do now is clean it up and stock her up like put pictures and whatnot up. Yes!! they fixed the front windows. Thanx for getting those pictures taken today Newwest!

Thank you all. Again I'm just happy to be able to share with other people who like ferries too. I took another walk down to the Quay tonite, oh BTW - For those who don't know it yet, they've JUST opened a new public pier on the OLD Burrard Drydock site. What they've done is they've fenced off the yard & old buildings & created a seawall & pier on the old site. the main pier stretches halfway out into Burrard inlet! That's how I was able to get so close to the Oaky. You can almost reach out & TOUCH it from there now. Gonna make for some great pix when the other ferries visit there now. The pier is really well done, they kept some of the old facades & pumps & such & integrated them into the new pier, along with some historical info boards. If you're gonna be on the North Shore anytime soon, I highly reccommend it. Especially when the weather is nice:) Another thing I noticed, as I was looking at the Oaky tonite, looks like they've cut out some run-off ports on the main cardeck, mid ships (look closely at the pix, you'll see them) & of course that HUGE elevator house on the solarium - boy is it an eyesore. I don't know why they made it so BIG this time, it was perfectly fine on the Cow & Coke. I also stayed around till the nightfall & I got to see her with her lounges all lit up. I must say, it looks like they did a good job this time around, it seems a little brighter & colorful than the other 2. I guess the real test will be to actually go ON her once she's back in service:)

Yup, she's expected to get the LCD TV's too like the SOBC did. That's awesome they opened that pier up, I have been wishing they would do that for a while now. I think they used that pier in the filming of Homeward Bound 2. I don't know if any of you remember that movie but I think it was made around 96 or 97. But I watched it just recently and there's no sign of any ferries in the drydock at all. But at a few scenes they have the dogs sitting at the end of that pier. But yeah, kinda of an interesting movie at those parts seeming it's supposed to be set in San Francisco, I didn't know Vancouver looked like San Francisco....

A lot of the time they will film a movie in Vancouver and say it takes place in Seattle or San-Francisco.

Bono gave out Paul Martin's number over the Jumbo Tron and told everyone to call him using their cell phones.

Hey New West, Is that white table still up at the top of the Q tower? Some friends and I were considering throwing it off of there but there were security guards around so we decided to try it another time.

Lol, yes it's still there. I wouldn't try to toss it if I were you, the place IS crawling w/ guards & somebody could get hurt.
