Well, whatever they do, I just hope they do it tastefully & not RUIN her like they did the Burnaby. Granted - I realize that was done by Victoria Line, when they took her over in 1991, but STILL - LOOK at that mid-lounge. What an ugly empty cavern. & shoving the Newsstand in the back beside the cafeteria, brilliant move. GOD I hope they can do better than that.

they will be reducing the passenger capacity a little along with the crew size. currently on an a liciense the nanny can carry upto 1192 passengers. after her refit this will be down to around 1000 passengers. they will not be putting chutes on her like on the burnaby and the c-class vessels instead it will be a slide setup. will keep you updated further as soon as i find out more. they had a senior manager onboard friday shadowing crew and getting ideas as to improve the boat.

I wonder if they were interviewing some passengers.

the nanaimo is getting the same setup that the kulleet and the klatawa have., just much larger, and more elaborate.

So if Queen of Nanaimo and Burnaby are getting a big refit, are they gonna include Queen of New westminster? I know there was a subject on that, but can anyone really confirm that now?

The New West has a capital budget for 2008 or 2009 I think. Look on their annual report from 2004, it'll say. There is a large vibrartion problem and some general mechanical systems need work. She'll be in service for quite some time as she had extensive restorations done when she was lifted.
