I'm just curious to see which ferry recieves the most votes. I apologize in advance if there's already been a poll on this. And the voting begins... now.

Well I'm just thinking but maybe keeping the Seachelt Queen in the Fleet longer would have done BCF good on a route like the Gulf Islands

But probably the Sidney is the one I'd bring back I'd give her a tremendous upgrade to her engine room and clear out all the Asbestos down there and give her new engines then restore her passenger decks as they originally were before she was retired

I was expecting the Sidney to be a hit.

Yeah well, I did too, some guys went for a tour a couple of months ago, I didn't go, but she is supposed to be ripped to shreds this month, and you might have heard that. And, I wouldn't mind bringing 1 pacificat into the fleet as an extra vessel.

Do some major upgrading to the Pacificats and bring them back to service on Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay...that is before the Super "C" plan was to take place though. But there wouldn't be anymore traffic problems if you had a couple fast ferries standing by...especially because they are the second largest in the world.

There is also a couple defects that some of you may want to consider, in the Pacificats: 1.They cannot hold trucks; 2:They have a low passenger capacity. But I have to admit, they are pretty cool. They would be good in the summer for doing xtra sailings on HSB-DPTB I said the Queen of Victoria: 1.It is a V, and could serve some time in the summer on TSW-DKPT run or on TSW-SWB run; 2. It holds trucks, and a high(er) passenger capacity.

the Queen of Victoria could only do cars because of a car deck fire back in 1986 I believe, then I think it would be better to have the Pacificats just for car purposes.

Yeah as I've said too many times before they needed new engines less crew and sail between Duke Point and Tsawwassen on car only sailings they could have been great they just needed 2 if only the government had thought cause Decisions and Government Don't mix

Chinook (aka "Sechelt Queen") for me, please. And as a special feature, I'd like to ask for special treatment:
- instead of the ship returning to the fleet, I'd like to go back in time and ride the ship in the BlackBall days from Seattle to Victoria.

Yeah, that would be awesom. I would do that with the Pacificats

My vote would be for MV Langdale Queen aka MV Kahloke! She was a beautiful ship in many different ways. Before she came to British Columbia, we knew her on Puget Sound as the elegant steamferry SS City of Sacramento. She dated back to 1903 as a East Coast passenger steamer; she spent many years as a car/passenger ferry on San Francisco Bay before coming to the sound in 1943. I understand that her hull is still in use as a barge in BC waters.

Indeed, the queen of sidney was a great ferry.
It would be awesome if she was returned to the fleet.

Queen of sidney deserves to be part of the BCF fleet again, but she is not in good enough condition now, she is rusty, dirty, overgrown, and does not have car capacity anymore, and there is a big huge hole in her starboard side.

If I had the power... I´d bring a bit of sense for reality to you folks ! There is not any sense in bringing back any ships as all of them left for a good reason.

If I had the power... I´d bring a bit of sense for reality to you folks ! We all like to dream, once in a while. So, Chivy, if you could go back in time and ride any world ship in history, what would it be?

well, it would be one - which would not have a chance to be successful in nowadays ferrytraffic for sure.. hence me, shaking my head about the idea, to bring back any of these to nowaday´s fleets. As well, sorry to disappoint you, it would not be one of the first BC-ferries.
Though, please do not misinterpret this, I am not even thinking about talking bad about your history.. I have been very impressed with the museum of BC maritime museum in Victoria.

Chivy: let me guess: Your a "realist", not a "dreamer".
Correct?
