Does anyone on this thread feel that some of our BC Ferry are needing a good modification. I feel that one or more of the ships need to be fixed up so that passengers can be more comfortable . My first is the Northern Adventure. Ever since we got the ship I thought it was a terrible ship, but after awhile I liked it. Now I feel that there should be a change. So heres the first photo I modified. The port and starboard windows should be outside decks for passengers. Would this be good or would it wreck the structure of the ship. The credit goes to the person who took this photo and i used it for reference for the ship

Umm... didn't I see this exact same post yesterday, or the day before? Most likely yes. Thread title was different, but everything else was more or less exactly the same.

Sorry guys, that was me. I made that page yesterday. I thought you guys were not paying attention to this thread so I was planning to delete it if no one replied or if there was another place I should have put it. Anyway I am sorry about that. Should I change it back. Here is the website though. ferrypicsbygraham.fotopic.net/

No need to move it again. I'm not sure how much discussion you'll get about the NorAd here; you might want to see what's already been discussed on those other threads that I quoted you. And for any proposals you have on vessel changes, be prepared for people to respond with questions about $$ and practicality (ie. is there money for it? can a local shipyard do it? are there other priorities to be done first?). Really, it all stops after the money question; that's the new reality at BCFS... So if your questions are "regardless of practicality" fantasy items, just let us know, and we'll forget about what might be impossible, and just dream.

Well, the thread is for all the ferries in the fleet but this was suppost to have been imaginery ideas for ships. It also involves what you think of the idea changes. Such as NA's front end or another ships idea change.

Ok, we can go with the suggestion to remove deck-5 from the Coastal Inspiration on route-30.
That deck is rarely or never used on Route-30, so my fantasy change would be to remove it for that route.

Not to mention stop messing with the C's and return them all back to their original appearances with all the proper cardeck windows in place.

Yes, then cut it in to three pieces, and attach a hull to each, then use one piece as a passenger only ferry for the old Albion route, one as a passenger-only downtown Vancouver-Victoria Harbour route, and one as a scenic Downtown Vancouver-Porteau Cove-Squamish route (where it will connect with a train to Whistler). BCF should open up the top of the bridge to Passengers on all ships, expecially NorEx, which otherwise has no forward viewing area unless you pay for a lousy little chair in the Aurora lounge.

Sorry ferrynutseattle, i knew that about the pacificats. it's just that i noticed that both the Chilliwack and Pacificats have a few similar designs. Both have a flat door design.
The Chilliwack has successfully been part of the bc ferries fleet for a while now and i think that the people who designed the Pacificat should have followed the chilliwacks design with a few modifications. that could have made the Pacificats a success instead of a flop.
Plus if they stetched the outside deck all the way to the back, passengers would be able to walk around.

Plus if they stetched the outside deck all the way to the back, passengers would be able to walk around. Keep in mind, that if the Pacificat's deck wasn't sheltered the way it was, being tucked up behind all the houseworks, you'd have a 35 knot wind to contend with. And that would be on a calm day. Also, the Transport Canada regulations for fast ferries are MUCH more stringent than those for conventional ships. I'm pretty sure this is why BCF couldn't have more outside deck space. You have to remember, it was only supposed to be an hour long crossing, and was intended to be more like an airplane experience than the traditional ferry experience we are used to.
