I assume that there are no boundaries on year? So somebody could post a photo from 2005 or they could post one from 1965 if they wanted to?

Here are my contributions: These photos were taken on Friday, June 12, 1998 aboard the then new MV WENATCHEE. She was brought over to Todd Shipyard and moored alongside the ways, where the new MV PUYALLUP sat, as a platform for hundreds to see the launch of the new ferry. These are my photos! This one has no caption. Mod note: since the first 2 pictures are identical (except for the caption), the first one was not included on the balloti139.photobucket.com/albums/q309/ferrynutseattle/ferrynutseattle1/APR_4-1.jpgThis one has a caption. i139.photobucket.com/albums/q309/ferrynutseattle/ferrynutseattle1/APR_4_Caption-1.jpgThis was taken just after the launch of the MV PUYALLUP. She was turned on the West Waterway and towed to drydock for outfitting. Yes, people were allowed on the bridges aboard the WENATCHEE that day to watch the launch as well as tour the new ferry and her engine rooms. The WENATCHEE had just received her papers. I took my first ride aboard her that evening, just after the launch, from Todd to Colman Dock where I caught my bus home from downtown Seattle. i139.photobucket.com/albums/q309/ferrynutseattle/ferrynutseattle1/APR_7a-1.jpgEND*** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** These below photos are for your viewing pleasure only. Wow I really like those, Mr. Ferrynut. I wish they still launched ferries like that. It's just not the same when its just a hull being lowered into the water, or half of the superstructure missing.

"People were allowed on the bridges..."
Wow. Talk about a culture lag... it looks surprising in the photos, until you remember that this was twelve years ago, three years on the other side of the Sept. 11 attacks. WSF security has really changed since then. (Sigh.)
