I fondly remember those boxes covered with carpet. They were at each end inside if I remember correctly...what did they store in them? Lifejackets? I remember years ago we went to Camp Byng on a Cub camp...and we'd sit on them eating lunch.

They Should Cover Up That area where the life boats were creating more open space

Sean: Why are you crying for over millions of $$$ spent on the ships own good? I mean, let's face it: The new interior is cleaner, looks better, and feels "more at home" (if you know what I mean).
Curtis: Good idea, were you thinking of cabin interior, or smoking area interior?

Neither I was thinking of since the Life Rafts aren't there anymore they should add more sun deck space where the rafts were so the lower sun deck is completly covered

I think it looks good the way it is. The decks aren that cramped anymore and there is lots of deck space on the top deck! She looks good. She dosent have those greenish colours on the ceiling of the lower outside passenger deck, she has new fencing which looks good! I must say one ship that needs deck work is the SOBC. I was on her last night also and her decks are rough and all rusty! They need to be painted!

Sorry about wining, but I just love the dogwood interior! I know getting rid of the lifeboats is for safety, but I still think it is neat having lifeboats

I liked the dogwood interior too but I guess the ships need to be updated but it would be nice if in the end all the ships werent the same. Get on the Saanich Esquimalt Vancouver, Burnaby and Alberni before they are gone or redone.

Today went over to Gabriola Island and I was on the 11:40am sailing from Nanaimo to Descanso Bay on the mv Quinsam. I noticed somone on shore beside the ferry terminal taking pictures of the ship as we were leaving.
This person had what appears to be dark clothing on and wearing a baseball cap, he also had a tripod with him, I am wondering if this person is anyone who is a member of this forum?
Just curios.

The way he was taking pictures of the mv Quinsam made me think he may be a member of this group as he climed down the edge of the seawalk and made his way to water level and was snapping pictures as we departed the dock. He took several pictures as someone with this group would, oppose to just one or two for a standard tourist. Anyway I am currently in the Wellington Branch of the public library on my way home, Just waiting for the bus.

I'm pretty sure most of us, other then Graham, don't have tripods (at least I don't).
Hope you enjoyed your trip on BC Ferries!
Cheers

It was Graham, as he came over here earlier today... He also went over to Newcastle to get some shots, too...

...he climed down the edge of the seawalk and made his way to water level and was snapping pictures as we departed the dock. " Anything to get the shot," I was taught. Indeed, that's was me capturing the Quinsam yesterday. I also got some waterline shots as she arrived. I'll be uploading those and more soon, including shots of the Coast Guard's Hover Craft, Queen of Cowichan, Queen of Surrey and Queen of Esquimalt, all at Departure Bay. Cheers, Graham (Who does wear a baseball hat)

Graham's got the baseball cap (with sunglasses riding on the cap's bill)
Scott's got the black leather jacket (ayyyyy!)
Karl's got the red sweater
Nick's got the blue jacket
We've all been issued our club-uniforms, and we wear them proudly.
Yeah, that was neat that it was Graham that you spotted from the Quinsam. That goes to show that us ferry-nerds have stuff in common, and we're relatively easy to spot by each other.
