I've finally gotten around to making a collection on my fotopic website for the Sonia / Northern Adventure. Check it out... www.ferrypicsbygraham.fotopic.net/c1189699.html...Although I have already posted these pics on the forum, you can now see larger versions of the photos by clicking on the pics themselves (after clicking the thumbnail).

Thanks Graham. Interesting to see the rust already from the crossing on the freshly painted hull. They took quite a battering from high seas so I guess not surprizing.

I had re-sized a handful of multi-vessel shots to being too small, and have now fixed the problem and uploaded the shots again, starting with: www.ferrypicsbygraham.fotopic.net/p37980610.html
Remember to always click the pic for the largest size, and raise the 'quality=#' number in the URL to augment the quality.Cheers, Graham P.S. Don't be discouraged to the point of not raising the quality number in the URL for other photos because these took so long to load; this set is abnormally large compared to the pic-size that I normally upload, and augmenting the quality of the smaller-sized pics really does make a noticeable difference.

Wow, they had the vehicles in all 4 lanes, on the port-side of the upper-car-deck on the New West. That's unusual, as I thought they rarely used all 4 lanes straight across.

Everytime I ride the New West, which is always Labor Day weekend, that is how they setup the upper car deck. Four lanes on one side, three on the other. They put cars on the four laned side, then trucks, vans, and anything oversized on the three laned side so they fit better. I was driving my 1970 Charger up to Campbell River last year and they tried to put me on the four laned side. I am not getting door dings in my Charger, asked to be put on the three laned side and they said OK.

Re Scott's pictures:
At Tsawwassen Terminal: Do you have any idea on why the Nanaimo is at berth #4, and not in her usual berth #2 ?

Re Scott's pictures: At Tsawwassen Terminal: Do you have any idea on why the Nanaimo is at berth #4, and not in her usual berth #2 ? That's a surprisingly common sight at Tsawwassen Terminal. Out of the two dozen or more times that I've arrived or departed aboard the Queen of Nanaimo at Tsawwassen over the last year, maybe only a third of those, tops, have been to or from Berth 2, the berth seemingly built for the refurbished SGI vessel; sometimes I've even seen a vessel stored there such as the Spirit of British Columbia after her recent annual refit.

In late November I boarded the Q of Tsawwassen at berth 4. I suspect BCF may be trying to minimize costs at TSW Terminal by restricting ship arrivals and departures to berths 3 to 5 where possible. During busy times such as in summer this is likely not possible.
