Some more great shots, Graham. That shot of the Practice Slide at Tsawwassen is funny. It's at Duke Point. Whoops...Guess I typed before I thunk.

Just uploaded to my photobucket site is a new picture of the Queen of The North's final southbound positioning cruise from Port Hardy to Tsawwassen on October 1, 2005. The picture was taken from French Creek between Parksville and Qualicum at 4pm. Little did I know this is the last picture I would ever take of her s104.photobucket.com/albums/m196/shiptracker Don't forget to click on the Queen of The North Album

The quality of the photo sucks, and the ferry appears small, but at least you get a glimps.

Here is something that hasn't been seen in awhile... Cowichan departing Berth 3 w/ Coquitlam holding in Berth 2...

Did the Coquitlam sail to Departure Bay last nite after the last run?
Judging that the ship is in Berth 2, not in Berth 3 I would assume that the berth is nearing opperational status.

Did the Coquitlam sail to Departure Bay last nite after the last run? Yes, she tied up at Berth 1. Judging that the ship is in Berth 2, not in Berth 3 I would assume that the berth is nearing opperational status. Just before sailing the Coquitlam was moved to Berth 2 for fitting and testing of the new ramps... The ship then moved to Berth 3 to load prior to her departure...

Oddly enough both Berth 1 and 2 have been in use at Horseshoe bay, depending on the berth needed for the barge and crew working or the one that the barge isn't tied up to. I guess that really shows the difference in actual ramp work being done.

Imagine if you or I were walking along thatwalkway to Berth 2, and happened to look out the window when the float was on fire... you'd see flames. Perhaps I would have second thoughts before riding the Queen of Nanaimo.
