Photos of the trip taken by NewFlyer and myself were posted in the separate "trip planning" board. (that's the secure board that regular group-trippers use for trip planning).

Hi Flugel Horn, Not sure what that means, Are they posted on different site from this? thanks Same site, but only "Voyager" members can see that page on their screen. So if you're interested in taking group trips or are wanting to have a more secure place to share travel details (ie. not this general open page here where anyone can read your private travel details), let a moderator know, and they can add you to that list. You may be a private individual, so I'm not sure if you'd be interested in participating in a group trip. or maybe you are, I don't know.

a note on the view into space from the Cumberland, the small white dot with a white line, is in fact a homemade kite from a recycled newspaper designed by the driver of a contracted Hydro truck... He had a great time from Galiano to Swartz Bay.

Awesome photos, Mill Bay. I didn't realize you had never been on the Saanich. Now it makes sense why you were so anxious to go for a trip on her. This was a feat that both the Saanich and Esquimalt both shared. A half fenced off davit. I don't know how many times I found myself thinking that I could cut around a group of people blocking the limited amount of walking space, by going beside the davit, to realize that it was blocked off, and would have to turn around and go through the group of people anyways. I've never understood why it's like that either. Perhaps it's a way of keeping things clear from the davit, so crews can quickly swing it out when needed.

I concur on the great photos, Mill Bay. Some of them look extremely familiar, as I caught the 505pm Queen of Nanaimo sailing to Tsawwassen from Galiano on Sunday! Too bad I didn't have my camera readily available at Sturdies Bay or I would have photographed the Saanich as she went past. Sturdies Bay was quite busy during the hour I spent there, with the Cumberland coming and going just before the Nanaimo arrived. A couple of photos taken from the bluffs on Sunday: SoBC with the Nanaimo in the background, heading for Salt Spring from Pender A couple of 1pm spook sailings passing by each other in Active Pass SoVI and what turned out to be the Bowen Queen, heading from VI to Nanaimo to replace the Quinsam for a few months

not stuck , but needs to be aware of Gossip Shoals...On another note... what would be the name of the container ship in background. Photo was taken on Friday, October 24, 2008 at approx 11am.

Here is a random stab at the container ship.(Please don't laugh if I'm totally off ) Emma Maersk. By the way nice photos! Everything is kinda gray except the ferry stands out. West Coast at its best.

I'm trying to find photos in my collection that are different than others already posted here. I'm sure I have more, but for now here's a small teaser: Queen of Chilliwack @ Horseshoe Bay Terminal (April 2006):

A very unique photo you have there. Being a fan of the Chilliwack I think it is one of the best photos of her, do you have any without the dock? What was she doing there?
