Your site is now more brilliant than ever, John. Best Unofficial BCFS info on the web. I only just found out about it 40 minutes ago, Being in Puerto Vallarta access to a computer is difficult to get.

John your new site is very easy to read and has lots of interesting facts. I especially like the history of the vessels because most of them are older then me and I don't know much about them. I have updated my Flickr site and added some new photos including planes. trains and of course ferries. It can be found HEREMy videos can be found HERE

During the forum break, I decided to invest in some webspace to host my photos. I've had this account for a while as a trial account, and have been learning the ropes as I go along. There's still many more uploads to come within the next couple of days, and more changes I hope to make. There are photos on there that I hadn't realeased to the public until now, such as the Queen of Sidney photos on Sunday. (PS: Have good close look at the very first photo of the Queen of Sidney album, and notice the advertisements ) But, feel free to take a look if you wish. www.pbase.com/ferryman

I've added another section to my Photobucket album called "Trips". Basically, this is where I put photos from my trips. It's still a work in progress, but I have some of our more recent forum trips in there, plus a few others. Most of my trip photos will also be broken out into my various ferry class and ferry terminal libraries, but the "Trips" folder keeps them in a more chronological order - just another sorting mechanism. s238.photobucket.com/albums/ff181/bswanplsbo/TRIPS/

I, like some others here, have now invested into PBase. I set up an account, and have created several ferry galleries. These will replace most of my Photobucket albums, although I will still keep my Photobucket account for categories like Trips, Signatures, and other pics I may want to post directly to this forum. I changed the link in my Signature to connect to my PBase Gallery, so I hope you all enjoy. It's still a work in progress, but I have quite a few ferry pics loaded in there already. www.pbase.com/bswanplsbo/root

Woohoo! Another Pbase user! Looks great so far, orcasnative! I'll look forward to watching it develope as time goes on. As a little note about my website ( www.pbase.com/ferryman ), I've noticed a sudden rise in the amount of people visiting the website. While I welcome comments/complaints, I do not welcome Spam. Just today, someone went on there and made about 35 comments which made little or no sense. Alot of them having this sort of structure: "Queen of Oak Bay old boat 1990-1998 departure bay plates go crashing everywhere". So in case this person just happens to be reading this, I've deleted your comments because I haven't got a clue of what you're talking about.

Ferryman, your site looks good. That's one of the reasons I went to PBase. I like the way it lets you set up galleries, and the interface, in general. Kevin Stapleton's PBase Gallery was anothe inspiration.

Today I would like to extend a true 'thank you' to everyone on this forum as FirstPhotography celebrates it's 10,000th view at roughly a year and a half old. I couldn't have done it without everyone here. "And I'd also like to thank... umm, my parents... my best friend... umm... god..." But in all seriousness, again, thanks. -Mike

In addition to the photobucket account I have had for several years, I now have a new account with Flickr www.flickr.com/photos/41465870@N04/. Into this Flicker account I am currently adding scans of my brother's (D. O. Thorne) original artwork of the CPR's BC Coast Steamship fleet. There are also original photos of CP's ships, both his & mine and a few others. Over the coming fall & winter I will add many more, and expand this beyond CP. Here is a sample, a watercolour drawing of the Princess of Nanaimo.

Mr. Horn, just wanted to say how much I enjoy the picture of the lighthouse you are presently using for your posts. It's a beauty. Great composition, colour and interest!
Mr. Wett Coast's Alaskan sunset is stunning, as well. It's not everyday that one sees such colour in nature.

I now have an account with Flickr where I will be posting photos from various trips. I'm moving away from Photobucket, and may dump them altogether. The link to my Flickr photos has now been added to my signature. Enjoy!

In a little less than 2 months time, my account at Pbase.com will need a renewed subscription in order to keep going. I'm trying to decide whether or not to keep it, or pay to have it around for another year. I'm leaning more towards letting it expire, and just continuing to support just Flickr for now. What do you guys think? Is there anyone around here that would be truely disappointed to see this site disappear? www.pbase.com/ferryman

What do you guys think? Is there anyone around here that would be truely disappointed to see this site disappear? You have some marvelous photos. If you can consolidate all of them on Flickr, that would work just as well as pbase, and it would let the rest of us continue to enjoy your fine photography, especially if you include the link at the bottom of your signature (hint, hint ). Truthfully, I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I like pbase's presentation, but I don't think I want to continue paying into two sites, and Flickr is getting better.

Thanks for the feedback, Kahloke. You've just sealed the deal for me. I will start to transfer all of those photos into albums on Flickr. It only makes sense, because I have unlimited storage space on Flickr for half the price of Pbase, whereas on Pbase I only have 1200 MB for 50 bucks. Standby for seeing the big move.

This is an invitation to all to have a look at this photobucket site: s210.photobucket.com/home/james_fisher/indexLook around and see what you can recognise... Question: In the experience of others, does photobucket moderate at all photo sites of clients who are photo poachers? What would others recommend in regards to this 'James Fisher'?

He's got 2 of my I'Sky pictures on his site. I'm ambivalent about the issue. He's not selling them, so it looks like he's just added them to his hard-drive collection of photos that he likes. The only issue is that his "collection" is available for all to see. I've got the odd Thorne or Pickens pic on my hard-drive, but that's for my own enjoyment (desktop background, etc), but I don't display them on a website.

In addition to your photos, I see some that were stolen from Kevin, Graham, Kam, Flugel and myself. I have dealt with Photobucket in the past regarding images being "borrowed" without permission, but they make it very difficult to get action taken against the offending user. However, if you want to get in contact with Photobucket regarding this user, I'll join in with you... Ask the photographer before you "borrow" the photo. Taking the photo without permission is theft.

Just to add fuel to fire, I can point out at least one photo that's mine of the Island Sky. However I do not intend to make a stink about it unless, you guys need me to.
