I just thought of something. We can nickname the Coastal Celebration "The Big Battery".
Get it? C Cell? ;D

I noticed something interesting while looking at Route 1 RBI today. For this Friday and Sunday, they show Coastal Celebration as the #1 boat out of SWB, which she has been doing, BUT SOVI is back in service as the 3rd vessel. What's up with that? Why wouldn't they put SOVI back in her usual position?

The Celebration along with the other coastals are the olympic ships so maybe that is why she is in full service till next Thursday! Advertising the olympics! That's the only reason I can think of!

Anyone know if the Celebration is scheduled to go into maintenance in early April? BC Ferries travel center shows the Coastal Renaissance on the Swartz Bay - Tsawwassen route instead of CC But on the same day, the CR is also on the Duke Point - Tsawwassen route I don't think the CR can depart Tsawwassen at 7:45am, arrive in Duke Point at 9:45am, and and leave Tsawwassen again at 10am again bound for Swartz Bay

My parents just returned from a sudden trip to BC for a funeral. After spending some time in Vancouver to visit the Island and my mom's brother in Cowichan Bay. Despite staying in North Van they drove to TSW for the trip over and rode the Celebration. All they could remember was it was a German ship. I will add a photo when they find their patch cord.
Mom is like me and spends as much time outside as possible. Dad likes to eat and sit. Mom's comment to me was she didn't like not being able to see forward and the side decks were too sheltered. I told her she could have gone upstairs and had all the room she wanted outside and the forward view. Now is where a difference of recollection takes place. Dad says he knew about Deck 6 and told Mom and she says he didn't and she didn't know about it .
On the return trip to Vancouver due to schedule issues they caught the New West. Both loved the trip as it brought back memories and they loved being at the front.
*corrected edits that disappeared.

I wonder how many tourists don't realize they can go upstairs. It must happen quite often, especially to the passengers who can't read/speak english.

I've ridden all of the WSF,except the Yakima and Hiyu, I drove up to Tsawwassen to ride on my first BC Ferry. I rode on the Coastal Celebration to Swartz Bay and back and I was IMPRESSED and a bit jealous. That is the finest ferry I've had the pleasure of riding on! (My wife usually just tolerates my ferry riding, she is actually lookin forward to coming back up & riding the other Coastals) : ) I had the breakfast buffet and later had a hot chocolate from the cafeteria and I was impressed with the service and the quality. I'm lookin forward to coming back up to BC to ride more ferries next month! (Although I did get some suspicious inquiries from Customs @ the border crossing when I told them I was just up for the day to ride a ferry)

You must be pretty brave to tell customs your coming up here to ride a ferry! I dident even tell them that when me and my g/f took the Coho to Port Angeles just to take a trip on the Coho! Although we went over for the afternoon though!

Although we went over for the afternoon though! They did pull my car over to the side and I got delayed a half hour while they searched my vehicle! Guess they don't have to many people come up to Canada for a day just to ride ferries!

That is why I tell them we're visiting friends. That is the truth. Also pleasure trip works very well since that is what it is.
