That was the 2pm sailing cause when I zoom in I can see myself on deck 5 towards the aft and I can see those clueless foot passengers waiting on the wrong side to walk off!

Yep, my camera clock no doubt needs adjustment for standard time. That photo was taken from the Mayne Queen which departed SWB at 15:25. I took a series of photos as went around behind the C-Cel. I will see which image of you Karl is best.

I travelled on the Celebration yesterday, 1600 from Swartz Bay. I was outside on deck 5 just before we entered Active Pass, and the whistle sounded...single tone as usual. As luck would have it, a deckhand was walking past me at this precise moment.
I said to him, "excuse me...I was just wondering why you only sound a single-tone whistle on this ship, instead if a three-tone?"
His answer: "Transport Canada regulations require us to sound the whistle as we transit Active Pass." He obviously didn't understand the question, so I rephrased it. "What I mean is why do you only sound a single tone instead of all three tones?"
He the replied, "the Coastals' whistles only have one tone."
I just bit my tongue and thanked him for the information.

Prior to this photo, the Coastal Celebration sounded her single-tone whistle upon entering Active Pass. To hear a ship of her stature announcing her presence with a high-pitched B natural is an embarrassment to all the vessels in the fleet that carry on the wonderful tradition of three-note (chord) whistles. A very shaky video of the Coastal Celebration sounding her single-tone whistle in Active Pass from yesterday.
Honestly, with a sound like this, you would think the Klitsa is entering the pass...

Nice pic!! Any idea where the C Cel will be spending her short upcoming refit? I thought she was originally just supposed to tie up at Swartz Bay, but with berth 4 non-operational there won't be any room. With the SOVI, C Ren, Cumberland , and Bowen Queen/Mayne Queen based there, there are no spare berths.

I'd take a guess and say either Deas, or Departure Bay. Maybe even one of the shipyards. Time will tell What happened to Berth 4? See following link for a picture from today. It's currently being rebuilt to match the new Berth 5 ferriesbc.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=terminals&thread=7653&page=5#143506

Just a question. I have been looking through all the forms and can't come up with a answer, where is the Celebration?

She's currently at Esquimalt Graving dock, but not in the drydock itself.

I do beg your forgiveness Viking, I do know how to spell it one does sometimes mis spell words when in a hurry. I do happen to very well remember the Queen of the same name from the time her keel was laid.

I'll try... no promises though >> From the guy who spelled Tsawwassen as Tswassen until no less than three years ago.
