Well I woke up too late. I did have a "birds eye view" spot staked out in Vancouver for some really nice photos, but over slept (I was aiming to be there for noon to be on the safe side and it wasn't Canada Place or Lions Gate).

I'm going to be at Departure Bay Beach on the Kin Park end by about 2:15 or 2:30 if anyone else wants to meet up.

Looking forward to seeing other peoples photos of her in Vancouver and Departure Bay. I never made it up to Departure Bay today but I hope to get up there in the next few days or next week to get a closer look!

Scott will be interested to hear your size and other comparisons between the CR and Cow when you get there.

I must have been right beside Mr. Keenleyside when I took my shots! It was a great vantage point, that's for sure!

Thanks for getting wet guys so we can enjoy your pics. Chris that will be a unique view of the Rennie for a long time unless someone rents a helicopter to do shots from the air.

From Brockton Point, with my inferior camera skills. For all her vaunted speed, I can report that the Seabus beat the ' Renaissance across the harbour. The doughnuts in front of Canada Place were quite impressive though. Some of the media set up at Brockton.

Makes sense they switched ends because the Brinki Bow Brow would have gotten in the way of docking at Departure Bay.

So am I! I've successfully booked my mom's van for Saturday, February 2 so I can head down to Nanaimo for her open house there.

I noticed in Chris' photos that the CR was "turned around". ie. her Brinki-wave-breaker was at her stern-end.

I can't believe I'm not seeing myself standing on the Lions Gate Bridge. I thought for sure, being the only person on foot on the bridge at the time, that I'd stick out like a sore thumb. Just goes to show you what I know...
Thanks to this event today, my camera is now broken. It's stuck in the zoom position, and has been like that since just seconds before the Renaissance went under the bridge again, on her way to Nanaimo. Luckily I was able to start it up again long enough to grab my photos off of it...
R.I.P. Camera that served me well for 2 years.....
I had wondered what was going on at Brokton Point, because I could see alot of tents over there. Neils photos answered that question for me....
I hope to get a few video clips on youtube tonight still. I'm hosting a Christmas Party with the parents right now, so the time needed to work on the videos has been sparce this evening...
