Here's a cool little digital animation made in 2001 by some person that was posted to youtube. Kinda amusing. Listen to the little ship's horn.

(Bringing back a 2 year old thread to avoid creating another SOBC events thread)
SOBC has been running late for the past two days due to unspecified "mechanical difficulties with vessel." It is currently running 54 minutes late. There have been no details released by BCF.
Any rumors?

(then we could build another Coastal ;D)

With one less Spirit, we'd find a similar effect would occur on route 1! OH OH OH! Another reason why we should've kept a V-class. Tisk tisk tisk....

Let's see... well, it's summer right now, so there are no extra ships, in the off season, though, they'd still have one Spirit, the Celebration and the New West, and they could always bring the Inspiration or Renaissance down and free up a spot for one of the C's to actually have a job instead of sitting idle and unmaintained waiting to burn up an engine for next summer. Wouldn't it be nice to see two coastals passing in active pass anyway?

The Sof B.C. had some sort of mechanical problem this morning & has been running around 30 minutes late ever snce. she seems to be operating normally why don't they run her at full speed 19.5kn fo a round trip to get her back on scedule?

She is down on 3 engines and therre for not able to run at full speed. No timeline yet for the fix for the engine, rumored to be a turbo charger busted with no spare parts. This turbo charger is different than her other 3, which is why there are no parts.

I am following up on some of the work that Mr FH has been doing moving old items into ship-specific threads. This item and the follow-up item to be posted shortly originally appeared on the 'Blast From the Past' thread. I am posting these under the SoBC thread strictly because it was the first of the spooks. Another blast from the past. This time back to the Sept. 1992 issue of the Westcoast Mariner. The following scan is taken from the back cover of that magazine. I have scanned it from one of many interesting items in my brother's collection. An artist's rendering of the 'Queen of Lego' - DOT collectionPerhaps the paint scheme shown here looks better that what was actually chosen?

Some on-board shots of the SoBC, from December 28th, 2010: Somebody died in the elevator. Oh wait, no. It was only out of order. Whatever it was, the crew sure made it clear ;D Shining the bell. What do these numbers mean? They range between 1 and 7, in different sections of the upper car deck. The crew on that trip was very jolly, and they made quite a few jokes on the P.A system during the trip. One of my favorites, when they announced that a car-alarm was sounding on the vehicle deck, they remarked that it was very alarming. Made everyone laugh
