SOBC headed for Swartz Bay, on her 7:00pm sailing from Tsawwassen. Seen in the lovely evening light from Baynes Peak viewpoint on Mt. Maxwell, Salt Spring Island. Passing by Mayne Queen, as they take different channels, at 8:30pm. Passing the southern tip of Portland Island. DSCF1255-2015 by Mike Bonkowski, on Flickr Passing by Seaspan's Carrier Princess, as they also take different channels on either side of Knapp Island, at 8:35pm DSCF1263-2015 by Mike Bonkowski, on Flickr SOBC arriving, and Coastal Celebration in berth, at Swartz Bay. Being watched over by Mt. Rainier. - Rainier watches over some BCFerries, as well as watching over WSF. - the mountain that mostly obscures my view of Swartz Bay is likely Mt. Bruce on Salt Spring Island. From my viewpoint location, I can only see the Seaspan berth and berths 2,3,4,5 (well, I can only see the ships in those berths if they're large enough). Watch it full screen in hi-def... Georgina Point is a lovely place to while away a few hours watching the ferries come & go. Now tell me, did you sit in one of those red chairs at all? Georgina Point has now been incorporated into Gulf Islands National Park of Canada. www.pc.gc.ca/voyage-travel/serapprocher-connect-twitter.aspx#westI remember my Jasper red chair from last summer at Willcox Pass.

I am ashamed. In my anniversary bliss on that day, I was completely oblivious to the Parks Canada red-chair connection to those chairs at Georgina Point. - and we sat on a picnic blanket, under a big tree. Your Willcox Pass red chair photo was one of my favourite pics of 2014.

You should be! Those chairs are just the thing for couples who like to spend time together & appreciate a good view. Did you happen to notice where BCFS keeps all those spare boats that they have laying around for summer holiday weekend duty?

They are transformers, and so for the rest of year they are toasters, microwave-ovens and Kuerig coffee machines in the BCFS managers' lounge.

Almost one year to the day this Walkthrough was recorded, here is the Spirit of British Columbia on a rainy Halloween day. Nice walkthrough! Thanks for taking us on that journey. It's been several years since I have been on a "Spook", so your video was a nice refresher to me. And, come to think of it, I've only been on SOBC once in my life, and that was very early in her career, like 1995 I think. The subsequent times I have been on a Spirit have all been on SOVI, and the last time I was on SOVI was 2007, so like I said, it's been awhile.

Spirit of British Columbia, Tsawwassen bound, off Mayne Island @ the north end of Active Pass - 2001. Still proudly flying the Dogwood Fleet house flag. Two years later came the 'slugs'. This mrdot photo is from a colour negative. Unfortunately, the colour had gone off just a bit so I converted this to b&w (sepia). © Mr DOT by mrdot., on Flickr
