A few photos taken during the Sunday portion of our annual two-day September CirclePac trip... Her Route 7 menu has been reduced to the Island Sky's typical "Coastal Express" fare. Food wise, that's Noodle Time noodle bowls, hot dogs, soup, cold pre-made sandwiches, etc... Photos of the MV Queen of Chilliwack, taken on Sept 21. Approaching Earls CoveA few questions about this sailing: 1) Was there much-room aboard? 2) What were the Jervis Inlet seas like? What height were the waves Cresting at? ==================== Very well done.

A few questions about this sailing: 1) Was there much-room aboard? 2) What we the Jervis Inlet seas like? What height were the waves Cresting at? Answer 1) Not really. But the interior smelled minty-fresh. I assume that's a result of the MLU. Answer 2) Seas were as calm as a tile floor. The waves were lapping gently against the Ikea bathmat beach at Saltery Bay.

I noted that she took a short cut route between Nelson & Captain islands. Is that normal? A map that I have shows the ferry route going around the far side of Captain Island.
My understanding is that this is the normal route for the Island Sky, but was not for the Queen of Tsawwassen. I think the 'official' routing is what you have on your map, WCK, but RAD-equipped ships seem to prefer the shortcut. That being said, the 'shortcut' doesn't appear to be doing the Chilliwack any huge favours...

Ok, so if the bow door was open a little more (like a wagging tongue) and if the ship was bumping & grinding into the wing-walls, would that be considered "Ferry Twerking"? I think that because our forum is uniquely positioned as a cutting-edge leader in ferry culture, we are allowed to define that.

Please use this as an example and inspiration for MileyPhoto's upcoming flagship "Ferries Twerking: Rear End Maneuverability with Right Angle Drives"

No more crazy thatn the rest of us... Just crazy enough to be part of this forum. I must admit, though, I would want to do another trip on the Chilliwack, again, and I would be really interested if she ever came back to route 17 for a while.

I might try and get up there next weekend as it is suppose to be nice that weekend for two roundtrips on the Wack. Yes I said TWO roundtrips. I figure I would be missing the ferry back to Comox even doing one roundtrip so I might as well do two roundtrips while I am up there!

The "thumbs-up" like button will not suffice for this post. Curtis, that is one very fine set of photos that you've posted. The effects of the searchlights are real (real awesome) and they are spectacular.

how busy was the last sailing of the day?? I wouldent think it would be too busy! I'd say it was about a quarter load. Didn't seem like too many people were on the Passenger Deck. Perhaps some people didn't get out of their vehicles? Hmmm... I think the others have covered the daytime sailing on the Queen of Chilliwack well. Those are some good shots. Funny how in the last photo there are two green lights at the two doors leading to the outside deck. Reminds me of that red light as you come inside on the Cumberland at that one stairwell from the outside deck, lol! I especially like the outside night shots on deck. Reminds me of being out on deck during the night when I did that route 40 milk run with Flugel. I like the colors in the photo Coulson took for the lounge. You have blue carpets/floors you have grey seats and you have red seats on each side with coastalized walls. I just think the Chilliwack's interior looks great now. I cant waint to go on her. Might try for next weekend to get on her. I am not sure which way I would go via Powell River or Horseshoe Bay but can you buy a ticket onboard if you went from the Earls Cove side??? Is the Gift Shop open on route 7??

I really disagree with SC Commuter's statement about adding little to this thread's contributions; by photographing in very nice evening light and showing as little of the boat as possible, he has probably presented the least objectionable view ever of the Queen of Chilliwack. Not an easy feat.
