Views of Lady Rose in Tofino, on November 14, 2011. - she's moored at Jamie's Whaling Station. I didn't get a close look, I just zoomed-in from the 4th-Street marina floats. The scene, she's in there somewhere. Zooms, showing more of the ship

Postcard of Lady Rose - she looks like she's in CP livery (re the funnel colour), but that's her Alberni Marine Transportation Ltd. colours. Postcard is by Anton's Studios in Port Alberni. - no mention of the photographer's name, but I bet his first name is "Anton".

Well heading to Tofino this summer to surf, where is "Lady Rose" docked? I am guessing in town.

I'll be in Ucluelet this summer for a few days, and will hopefully drop by Tofino as well for a 'Rose photo stop. Not sure where she is, but it's not like Tofino is a metropolis or anything. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

Leaving Port Alberni, with a good crowd to see her off for her final trip leaving 'Alberni.
In the Alberni Inlet
In open waters of Imperial Eagle Channel and Loudon Channel, near the Broken Islands.

Lady Rose at Jamie's Whaling Station in Tofino. - October 2012. The only change that I can see (since last year) is that the canvas covering for the aft-deck is now ripped. The scene at Jamie's Snug in her berth No news on her future. She's been here since April 2011.

:)you know one of my facebook groups are trying to save the oversize ss United States, something that is not feasable, but this diminutative last historic Union steam ship is a feasable size, and would be similar to the Princess Mary in preservation size but real genuine preservation material. maybe I should dream on, but this is the rite size if it were ever possible, we should never have let that awful Stena line bugger off with our Maggie! mrdot

M/V Lady Rose - one-time Union Steamship - retired @ Jamie's Whaling Station, Tofino, Vancouver Island - 22 March 2013. It looks as though she has not seen much, if any, TLC since being moved here from Port Alberni a few years ago. Hopefully that will change before it is too late. photo © WCK-JST by Wett Coast, on Flickr

Can't help thinking that this may be yet another example of someone who's ambitions were deeper than his pocketbook. The good ship Lady Rose may have been better off being bought by a scallop farmer. Hope I'm wrong...

Hi folks I'm looking in from Scotland Whats the situation on Lady Rose? No change from when she was moved to Tofino (in March 2011). She's still moored at Jamie's Whaling Station in Tofino, not certified for any commercial use. No change expected by me over the next few years, other than a slow and steady deterioration of her condition.

pre-dawn Lady Rose, at Jamie's Whaling Station in Tofino, on November 28, 2014. Differing lengths of exposures yield differing results: Just to show who the owner is. - a person at the dock told me to expect to see some work done on the ship, next spring. More photos, plus video, to come in the next few days.

:)while there are many impossible preservation projects out there, ie. the might United States, for example, this one is of a compact size that makes it feasable for such a venture. they all would need people with 'deep pockets' but there would be a chance with this one, as it would be similar to the 'Princess Mary' with much more of the real heritage vessel still with us! mrdot.

Hi there,
I'm the Archivist and Librarian at the Vancouver Maritime Museum and thought it's a good idea to join this group of very knowledgeable people! Can you tell me if the Lady Rose is still afloat or was she scrapped in the end? We might feature her story in our blog and we want to make sure we have all the facts. Thanks! PS. My apologies for any forum missteps I may make, I have never belonged to one before!
