Sad reality However I just got me a bike, I will try to avoid taking transit as much as I can in the near future.

Over past few month Langford Transit Centre, Victoria Regional Transit System, has taken delivery of Grande West Vicinity CNG 30 ft buses for use on Langford and Sidney routes. I am posting this photos because these are new type of bus to BC Transit fleet. 4215 by Blue Bus Fan, on Flickr 4420 by Blue Bus Fan, on Flickr BC Transit has taken delivery of ARBOC Spirit of Freedom for use on Community Shuttle routes over month of September. The Central Fraser Valley Transit Centre has opened today. 16 XN40s will be going into service along with another 10 next year and 8 CNG Vicinity's will be going into service soon. 16 Novas will probably get transferred to Victoria to replace D40LFs. However CFV still has 8 D40LFs so they might either only send 8 Novas to Victoria to replace 8 D40LFs or keep the D40LFs in CFV for another year.

I think Nova LFS will stay in Central Fraser Transit System for service expansion when that starts up again and to replace D40LF . I think Nova LFS are transferred from CFTS if the second generation 12 Nova LFS will be transferred to Kelowna Transit System in return for 12 third or fourth generation Nova LFS to Victoria Region Transit System and the fourth generation in CFTS would be transferred to Victoria Regional Transit. I think 9 Vicinity 30 ft CNG are to transfer 35 ft Vicinity Bus and replace the 0233. But maybe the 9 Vicinity are to 0233 and D40LF.

For anyone interested, one of the old Ballard fuel cell BC Transit busses is parked in the parking lot behind the Ballard building in south Burnaby right now. It is in older BC Transit colors (I'm not sure of the era). You can see it from the trail behind the building; you could probably walk up to it, the parking lot has neither security nor fencing and is deserted on the weekends and after hours.

Seen Jan. 14: one of Victoria's new double deckers at a commercial entity. I was walking past the place and took a closer look from across the street. It's indeed ours: the fleet number is 9532. It didn't even have license plates yet! Update: all up to 9540 have been seen at the BMT bus/RV conversion place at the airport.

On what is apparently their last day of revenue service, I checked NextRide Victoria for our original double-deckers. During the PM peak, 9001 (Route #50/61), 2 (same), 5 (72), 6 (50/61), 8 (71) and 10 (50) were on the road today. Every one is on a West-Shore or Saanich Peninsula route, nothing on the urban routes. I have not seen 03, 07 or 09 for a long time; maybe they were the first to be parked. Regardless, it's been fun. Now it's time to welcome to the 9530s and 40s!

So far transit systems that Girardin Minibus G5 for HandyDart are Cowichan Valley Regional Transit System, Chilliwack Transit System, Regional District of Nanaimo Transit System, Shuswap Regional Transit System, Victoria Regional Transit System, and Vernon Regional Transit System. So far Girardin Minibus MB-II have been delivered to Victoria Regional Transit System or Kelowna Regional Transit. I am posting these photos to show the last order of ARBOC Mobility and next generation of HandyDART. 2682 by Blue Bus Fan, on Flickr 2762 by Blue Bus Fan, on Flickr Victoria Regional Transit in 2020 replace the first generation and first double deckers in North America with latest generation of Alexander Dennis Enviro500 LHD buses with eleven units. What a weird year BC Transit had this year: 1. Masks become recommend on transit again but in June was reverse in Kelowna Regional Transit System and regional routes to Kelowna, and came back to all systems in British Columbia. 2. Change of contracts in some system, First Transit takes over Lake Cowichan routes 20, 21 and HandyDart in Cowichan Valley merging Cowichan Valley Regional Transit System under one contract. City of Powell River takes routes 12, 13, 14 and HandyDart thus taking over all operations in Powell River Regional Transit. 3. Central Fraser Valley Transit System goes 100% CNG fuelled Conventional bus thus transferring 2008 Nova LFS to other transit systems. 4. Victoria Regional Transit System retired first double decker buses in North America which where 2000 TransBus International Trident 3 replacing them with next generation Enviro500 buses. 5. Kitimat Transit System, Victoria Regional Transit System, West Kootenay Transit System, Kelowna Regional Transit System, and Kamloops Transit System get high floor cutaway buses Girardin Minibus Micro Bird T-Series, for HandyDart services. 6. Victoria Regional Transit added more Girardin Minibus G5 for HandyDart, 7. While the Vernon Regional Transit System, and Chilliwack Transit System get high floor cutaway buses Girardin Minibus G5 for HandyDart. Note: BC Transit has started to transition back to high floor cutaway buses for HandyDart after ten years of sticking with low floor ARBOC Spirit of Mobility for both community shuttles and HandyDart. I believe BC Transit is sticking with low floor cutaway buses ARBOC Freedoms for Community Shuttles operation in conventional route service.

2022 seems like an interesting year to watch out BC Transit systems expand: 1. Kamloops Regional Transit System is gaining more frequency on some routes. 2. Prince George Transit system is getting an express route and route 15 gain midday service. 3. Monday service in off season is coming to Lund in Powell River Transit System. 4. Victoria Regional Transit System is splitting route 2 into route 2, route 5, and also expanding service with re-route 64 Langford trips via Beecher Bay on Monday to Friday except Holiday. 5. Service expansion is coming to Squamish Transit System. 6. South Okanagan-Similkameen Transit System is is expanding regional service with a new route and expansion on route 30, 70. 7. City of Salmon Arm is adding Sunday service on routes 1 and 2 in Shuswap Regional Transit System. 8. Vernon Regional Transit System route 90 Vernon - UBCO is getting Sunday Service.

Some major routes got delayed in 2022 due COVID-19. 1. Route 66 Fraser Valley Express is extending to Lougheed Station in March 2022 which will be the first BC Transit route to connect to the SkyTrain system since TransLink was formed. 2. Some time in Spring of 2022 a bus route will connect Duncan to Nanaimo.
