Well you see BC transit is not doing to good for many reasons such as the fact that employees are quitting or retiring and they are super short on employees of all positions now and if this continues then there will be a serious problem.

When i speak of problems i am talking about buses not being on the road and people not being able to get to their destinations 😲 there could be more problems though especially in smaller communities where public transit service is a lifeline and that is essentially what i mean by BC transit is heading down the toilet 🚽 hopefully that gives you fellows enough clarity, sorry for not doing so earlier.

A couple points, since you’ve taken a rather assumptive approach to the supposed decline of an organization: 1) Retirements are not indicative of organizational decline - it simply means new staff must be brought in. Your reports of mass-quitting is fabricated and untrue; and 2) BC Transit is a continually growing organization. I don’t believe they are short-staffed. They manage 52 systems over 83 communities - a majority of those systems are growing and require more people to administer, as overall transit demand and ridership increases.

Yes buses cancellation have seemed to be problem for Victoria Regional Transit System because buses are old compared to the rest of Canada. But BC Transit does have XN40 and new Enviro500 coming to Victoria Regional Transit System to replace older buses. 2. Most system are growing in terms of users and hours. Yes Kelowna Regional Transit was going to getting 5,000 hours more service but BC Transit slashed because of lack of space transit system. But the Cowichan Valley Transit System and Campbell River Transit System are getting new transit centres that can handle 50 buses along with CNG buses. Central Fraser Valley Transit System is getting 100 that can be increase to 150 transit centre. 3. The only system that is going down the drain is Dawson Creek Transit System because the City Council wants to reduce budget.

I've talked to BC Ferries deck crew who had 'information' that didn't actually reflect what the company was going to do. Probably the same with transit personnel.

It's ok to have wrong information, as long as you explain your comments. That way, people can understand the reason for your comment, and people might even be able to suggest corrections to your facts. But if you don't explain the reason for your comment, then there's no discussion opportunity. (and no need for you to keep apologizing. Just move on and give us some background next time.)

I don’t know if all the 80 units will be XN40 some of these 80 units could be Grande West Vicinity 30 ft CNG according to CPTBD. Which there math doesn’t add because 21 XN40 plus 34 Grande West Vicinity CNG equal 55. All I know these 80 units will be fuelled by Compressed Natural Gas.

Regional Districts Of Nanaimo Transit Transit System has created an temporary route to service Duke Point. I hope if public demands the RDN to keep the route they will improve and keep the route.

Fares start on June 1 for all Systems.

Fares start on June 1 for all Systems. For context since I don’t see much above: Fare collection has been suspended since mid-March when rear door boarding was implemented, in order to physically distance drivers from passengers. There have been subsequent safety features installed throughout BC Transit, including a bright visible red line, a physical rope separating the driver from passengers, and signage on the bus. Capacities of the coaches have also been greatly reduced to allow for physical distancing on board. The loss in revenue has had a spectrum of financial impacts, Ranging from problematic to devastating. In Prince George, we’re currently losing a total of 1.3 million in revenue each month from all sources - of which transit makes up a small portion. BC Transit’s conventional system funding model makes our system more resilient in times like this (53% funded by local gov, 47% funded by province) - more resilient, anyway, than what you’re seeing at TransLink where almost all sources of funding have been greatly reduced. Since BC Transit’s position has rightly been frontline worker and operator safety first, they needed to develop a solution to eliminating risk as much as possible, and mitigating any remaining risks that might persist. Therefore, in order to allow for fare collection, they’ve developed a vinyl barrier that will be installed province-wide in the next month.

Regional Districts Of Nanaimo Transit Transit System has created an temporary route to service Duke Point. I hope if public demands the RDN to keep the route they will improve and keep the route. Yes, the Nanaimo system is serving the Duke Point Terminal due to Departure Bay being shut down temporarily. The positive part is that it only took eleven days from the Departure Bay route stoppage to starting the Duke Point route. The negative part is that the Duke Point route does not operate on Sundays. I do not think the route will continue once Departure Bay reopens because the foot passenger loads on route 30 are too low.

BC Transit has recently switch to white destination signs for all new buses. Also, Victoria Regional Transit System has taken delivery of 33 XN40 and 25 CNG Vicinity buses. I am posting these photos to show what the white destination signs look like on BC Transit buses and XN40 in Victoria Regional Transit System: 1149 by Blue Bus Fan, on Flickr 1182 by Blue Bus Fan, on Flickr
