...and she's here. Now in Juan de Fuca Strait, with the Majestic Princess apparently hot on her trail. The news release from BC Ferries indicates that the journey has taken just as long as it was supposed to, so apparently all that dilly dallying up the Pacific coast was just part of the plan, and not necessarily weather related. Or maybe they built some expected adverse conditions into the itinerary.

Island 3 will first go to Ogden Pt, pier A. That is closest to the breakwater. At 14:30 she will depart for the short journey to Point Hope. Should be great views along the harboir.

As of 9:30 this morning, Island 3 has arrived at Ogden point Some time during the day it moved to Point Hope, that was a quick stay at Ogden! I'll keep an eye out for any indication of a name. I failed for the first two, just to set realistic expectations.

Island 4 has ow changed it's destination to Long Beach California with an expected arrival of Aug 3. Looks like this will be another fuel stop? Confirmed. Perhaps the crew may be wanting to get picks and shovels and dig for buried treasure at Santa Rosita State Park. Too late for them! It's been removed since 1963. The "Big W" is gone as well (replicated in Hawaii). Only a short piece of trunk remains, as per a filming location video of "IAMMMMW" on YouTube. That famous road leading up to the park, which was at another location in southern California, is called the California Incline at Palisades Beach Road in Santa Monica. As the delivery voyages continue ...

Island 5 is on the move, destination is Tenerife. tak Island 6 should not be to far behind Island 5, all four of the 2021-2022 series Island class ships should be in Victoria by the end of this year. One has already arrived, and the others are not to far behind.

When BC Ferries officially announces the name, some good learning will likely happen for all of us. I like learning about the coast, especially words and names that are way older than I am.

The name suits them as they are ships serving the islands. I Hope they don't name them after First Nations. They already named the Salish Class after them & that artwork looks pathetic. Sorry just giving my true opinion.

I'm aware of ship names like Orca, Raven and Eagle....and soon to be Heron. I'm aware of the word "Salish" which is very connected to the coast and its waters. I love the artwork on the 3 Salish class ships, and think they are a good representation of the coast. I think that's one of the best things done by BC Ferries in recent years. (edit done to make sure I haven't "Them'd" anyone)

Kwak’wala is an endangered language spoken by the Kwakwaka’wakw First Nations of the central coast of British Columbia, and in that language it looks like 'nagalis' might mean 'light'? “when long ago first light came into our world” gila-oł-ex ‘nagalis-ants ‘nalax come long ago light our world (Boas,1947:289) yaleunion.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/NicolsonMarianne_PhD_2013.pdftak

Looks like this wee vessel may well indeed have the most well researched name of ANY BCFS vessel, past or present.

Island 4 has changed it's destination to "Los Angeles" from Long Beach. ETA is still showing a 0200 arrival which I feel will not be met? Currently off Esenada Mx & by Cruise Ship is usually overnight.
