Tri-Mike, Old-Mike here:
I'm glad that you like ship whistles & horns, because lots of us do too.
Thanks for sharing your collection of horns, which I presume is growing every time that you see/hear another ship.
What is your numbering system on your videos? Is that simply the 41st or 99th horn video that you've shot? Personal catalogue systems are great.
Next question: What is your favourite ship horn/whistle, and why?
Cheers !

i have a youtube account and i usually post my Horn and ferry/train videos there, and i have 103 versions of the spokanes horn on my channel, so it is how many versions there are, like MV Walla Walla horn #51, that would be 51st version, My i personally like the Queen of Coquitlam's whistle because it has a very nice sound to it, if you are talking about BCF's, now WSF, MV Spokane, i think it is the most obnoxious, i like that one because you can feather it out in a harmonious way

I made a compilation of 27 different ferry horns, i hope you guys like it That is quite the work of 'whistle passion', much enjoyed. Must say I prefer the deeper throaty tones to the high pitched tones. That said, with all due respect to the WSF fleet, the two best whistles in your video belonged to 2 very very old girls: the M.V. Coho and the S.S. Badger! Beautiful!

I am pleased that the NHL Seattle Kraken has a Kahlenburg KM-110 Horns from one of the WSF vessels and WSF has confirmed that as true so I am totally looking forward to watching them play they're first season and hearing such wonderful noise ππ

Out of curiosity do you happen to know what vessel or class of vessels this Kahlenburg KM-110 horn is replicating? I kind of hope it is that old school two-tone horn from the Spokane and Walla Walla from back in the day. To be even more greedy, that would sound pretty cool to do the traditional one long blast with the two shorter blasts at those Kraken games.π€

It's the Tacoma supposedly one of her spare sets so I have got a video of it and it sounds as good as it must have been when she was brand new

(not really following hockey these days) I went to a Seattle Kraken game against the Chicago Blackhawks at the new Climate Pledge arena, and I believe one of the horns used when the kraken score, is from the Hyak. I am guessing they are using the horn at about 3 quarters or maybe half power of what they would have used when the horn was onboard the Hyak, otherwise even with the sound design inside the arena, it would probably be super loud. I wonder if BC Ferry horns will ever get a second chance like that, that way the most special part of the ferry is saved, even if that particular ferry is gone forever (scrapped), or retired.

Can confirm that it is one of Hyakβs horns. Which end? Itβd take a better ear than mine to tell.
