Salish Shamu is headed from Saltery Bay to Little River, it looks like. My guess is another softie sailing on the 3:15pm from Little River today.

Orca didn't do the 3:15 run, maybe they're going to do the last run over with her instead?
Edit: Guess not, looks like she's returning to Saltery Bay.

Good timing, apparently the 3:15 was an overload... Left-behind season is starting early, just in time for a smaller vessel...

~11 PM the Queen of Burnaby departed Saltery Bay, bound for Deas. Most likely never to return to the Powell River area (or anywhere else other than a scrap yard...)

Quinitsa now docked at Denman West, as apparently Tachek is scheduled to make a guest appearance at Buckley Bay on her way back to Whaletown. That might make the first occasion ever for three ferries being in Baynes Sound... four, if you count the retired Rhododendron a mile or two south at Fanny Bay.

The shuffle to bring the Bowen back down south has begun, Tachek stopped briefly in Little River and is now headed to Quadra.

Bowen Queen is tied up at Fulford right now. Good to know there is a backup available nearby if the Nanny's return happens to get delayed beyond Friday.

I wish I had been up on Mount Maxwell tonight to take a photo of Howe Sound Queen navigating Sansum Narrows:

I have a question sometimes I see the Spirit of Vancouver island or the spirit of British Columbia docked bow first in Swartz bay granted this is usually November through January but I am curious as to why that is

They are not in service when at Swartz Bay. They unload from the usual berth and just "drive in' to the berth they tie up in. You notice the same thing at Departure Bay when a C class or a Coastal is tied up with the Horseshoe Bay end facing the dock this is usually happens when the ship is laid up in berth 1. During Jan and Feb the Spirits usually are in refit. Speaking of not in service look at what I found at Woodgrove this afternoon. www.flickr.com/photos/123779583@N06/36091590534/in/dateposted/

The post-summer shuffle took place last night:
Coastal Renaissance moved to SWB to be the #2 Coastal Celebration moved to TSA to be the #1 (probably for most of the SOBC MLU?) SOBC moved to Deas, I'm guessing to prep for her long voyage Queen of Coquitlam moved to Departure bay to be the #2 vessel

Bowen Queen did some pinch hitting for the Mayne Queen yesterday (2 or 3 afternoon turns), as MQ had an issue, according to service notice with a fire pump. tyed up in SB Berth 3 overnight, and sailed north sometime between 9 and noon. See my post in the Swartz Bay terminal thread.

The vessel positions page shows Quinitsa out for a spin in Baynes Sound the last few hours... she's been sitting for a fair while, and goes into service tomorrow while the cable thingy gets an engine replaced.

Could having to replace an engine after a relatively short 'in service' period be considered 'normal'? Perhaps the replacement is warrantee work because the original is somehow defective. Does anyone have any details on this?
