Apparently the Salish didn't work out well on the Bainbridge route...
Ferry Alert: Edm/King - Salish Replaces Puyallup Wednesday, Sept. 20
Tomorrow, the 64-vehicle Salish will need to move from Seattle/Bainbridge to Edmonds/Kingston to replace the 202-Vehicle Puyallup. While technically safe, the Salish is not appropriate for operation on the Bainbridge route, specifically at Bainbridge, where it doesn’t fit well in the slip. To address this, tomorrow morning the Salish will move to the Edmonds/Kingston route, where it can operate more easily.

If this does indeed happen it will be the first time that an Issaquah 130 Class vessel has been used on this route
Ferry Alert: Two Morning Sailings Cancelled on Point Defiance/Tahlequah Route Aug. 2
Two sailings on the Point Defiance/Tahlequah route will be cancelled Wednesday morning due to a needed boat assignment change during the service day. The smaller Salish will be replaced with the larger Kitsap on Wednesday, Aug. 2. Due to the change, the 8:25 a.m. sailing from Point Defiance to Tahlequah and the 8:50 a.m. departure from Tahlequah to Point Defiance will be cancelled. Affected customers can view the schedule online to see which sailings would be good alternatives.
The boat change is happening during the service day due to crew availability, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

I went to the USCG Port State Information Exchange site ( cgmix.uscg.mil/PSIX/PSIXSearch.aspx) to see if there was any information concerning SOLAS certification for the Chelan. The most recent info I found was the following: SOLAS Exemption CertificateIssued: December 5,2019 Expired: January 7,2021 SOLAS Passenger Ship Safety Cert, Record of Equip
Issued: December 5,2019 Expired: No date given SOLAS Passenger Ship Safety Certificate
Issued: December 5,2019 Expired: January 7,2021 It looks like the Chelan no longer has SOLAS certification.
