Why was the Burnaby listing I wonder?? This happens when the Burnaby or Nanaimo are on the Tsawwassen- Gulf Islands run. It's due to the car deck being loaded for multiple destinations and at some point, the load is heavier on one side hence the list.

Merry Christmas everyone from the Mirrlees household to yours! It has been a great year in getting back to the large group trips that we have had in the past.
For 2013, I hope this trend continues! B.C. Ferries is sailing into un-charted waters, when the shoe finally drops, there will certainly be some lively back and forth discussion here.
Enjoy time with family, eat and drink lots, except no driving after the drink part.
Best wishes to all,
Peace Out.

Thanks for the birthday wishes guys. It was a quiet one as I was separated from family due to the windstorm. However, I treated myself and had a nice dinner out.

The "6 brown things" are sky lights for each solarium I believe. Interesting shot, as this area is not accessible by passengers (crew only). You must have known someone to get up there.. You can sneak into all sorts of out of bounds areas. I used to like sitting in one of those areas on the car deck right at the stern on either side of the car deck doors...where those three openings are for rope to go through. I would not be advocating getting in to crew only areas if I were you.

I'm better at correcting my spelling, than making my sentence structure easy to read. I re-read my posts most of the time not in less if I have to go somewhere or do something else. When I re-read my post they make sense to me. Are other members understanding my recent posts? Maybe you shouldn't post unless you can devote the time to re-read your post. Otherwise, I have been understanding your posts that you have made over the last 2 days. Your posts in the last week before however, have been a real "Dog's Breakfast." IMHO. Please do keep up with editing your posts, we've seen the positive results it makes in the post quality and we know you're capable of it.

Oh... My... God... That is absolutely striking. She hasn't gone entirely to waste. This s good. I'll tell you something though, that's one cluttered wheelhouse! Actually, that photo is a pano, the Nanny's bridge like the other 7- sisters is very spacious.

BC Ferries use to do two boat service on the Snug Cove-Horseshoe Bay in 1991? Queen of Capilano had just been moved to the Bowen Island run. She was first put on Route 7 and after the Cumberland was built, this freed up Queen of Tsawwassen which was then put in place on Route 7 and thus moving Cappie to Bowen Island. The Hound Dog was moved to the Vesuvius- Crofton run. In this photo the Capilano was not yet in service likely still having her crews being trained on her. This expalains why Hound Dog is getting ready to round Tyee Point.

Noticing that Washington State Ferries has just named the two newest ferries in the system. M.V. Samish and M.V. Tokitae. The first one I can see some confusion with in relation to the similarly-sounding "Salish," but moreso, the name "Tokitae" may bring on some unwarranted attention. Any idea on the pronunciation of Tokitae. I am thinking it rhymes with 'walk this way', but perhaps it is 'toke this way'? I predict that her nickname will be Doobie! ;D

I use an 8 GB card as well. I shoot 1600x1200 pixels and right now have 923 photos which is using only 946MB at the moment. I used to use 2GB cards but they just fill-up too fast.

Did anyone get a picture of the fresh new car deck coating she recieved this last refit? Unfortunately no, but I did notice it when I first stepped on board - it is nothing terribly out of the ordinary (standard grey), it looks great and they did a good job. On a side note - unfortunately, the builder's plaque is missing. It was either removed in the last refit, or stolen in her first few days on Route 8. Her Builder's Plaque, sadly, has been missing for years...

I thought last summer I shaw on the Current Conditions page and on the travel centre the Manye Queen going to Tsawwassen on the 10:25 am Departure from Long Harbour to Tsawwassen! That would have been Bowen Queen.

Hmm. According to travel Centre the Spirit of British Columbia will be based out Swartz Bay for January 18, 2013, and January 20, 2013.As the number 2 vessel out of Swartz Bay. Yes, it's an annual event when SOVI goes out for refit SOBC covers for her sister. This is when C-Cel and Renny are the #1 ships based out of Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen respectively.
