Which ship(S) is going to replace the Island Sky on the Jervis inlet run when she is on the Langdale run?
I would have assumed it would be the Bowen Queen with perhaps the Quinitsa if needed. But if that was the case why did they sail the BQ to Fulford Harbour instead of Departure Bay which has Berth 1 free. I do not see any service notices with any other vessel going into refit so its almost pointless and a waste of fuel to send a ship south, only to bring it back. I understand the Orca is tying up at Saltery Bay.

I took the bike once from Campbell River over to Cortez Island a few years ago and purchased a through ticked at the Campbell River Terminal, and then biked across Quadra Island to Heriot Bay, boarding the then mv Tenaka over to Cortez. This is fine and I understand this.
Now, what if A resident of Quadra Island wanted to go over to Cortez Island? Can they purchase their fare at Heriot Bay? There is nothing on BC Ferries website about this.
Even if a visitor is vacationing on Quadra Island they may decide at the last minute to take a run over.

One thing is for sure and I think we all can agree on this, Once the Spirits are retired we will never see another single ended ferry in the BC Ferries fleet with the exception of those on the Northern Coastal runs. Unless Transport Canada Bans Double ended ships for some reason. But I have had a crazy image in my head, Imagine what the Spirits would look like if they were double ended ships. Kind of cool actually.
Double ended ships are here to stay, like them or not That is probably a sure thing.

Personally I would like to stick with the traditional standard look and size to the Cowichan class. I have mentioned it before and I will again I like the look of ships like the Queen of Cowichan, Coquitlam, Spokane and Walla Walla. WSF updated the look in Tacoma class which is cool. All we really need is a updated version of the Tacoma class with a upper car deck and closed in decks.
The Coastal class vessels are nice ships and I enjoy sailing on them when I can, but do we really need that big of ships on rt 2 year round? I don't think so.
Last November I rode on the Queen of Coquitlam on route 2 to and from Horseshoe Bay during the Cowichan refit. Very empty sailings indeed. There were far less than 100 vehicles on each sailing. There were lots of empty seats up on the passenger deck and I can't understand why BCF would replace these ships with bigger ones. Especially ships with 2 passenger decks such as the Coastal class.
Sure there are peak times in the summer but does this justify running these mega ferries near empty year round?
If we want bigger ships year round we may need to have even less sailing in winter to fill them.
I just love the traditional look of a C class or Tacoma class double ended ferry with the pickle forks and do not want to see them disappear. Notice I left out the Surrey and Oak Bay here yuck! I don't like Thier snubbed bows.
Just my 2 cents here.

Spirit of Vancouver Island is cruising around the Saanich inlet this morning doing some hard over turns in front of Mill Bay. patbaywebcam.comI would assume at least one of the Spirits will soon return to service. Coastal Celebration will need a time out then the Inspiration before Summer. Renaissance will be needed on rt 2 for Easter if the Surrey is in refit and Coquitlam replacing her.☺

I am currently at the VIRL on Gabriola Island right now and when I came over on the Quinsam I got a shock when I went to get something out of the on board vending machine, a toonie for a lousy Chocolate bar. Ouch! Maybe I should pack my own snack when I ride the ferries. Something to keep in mind.

Quinitsa is going back into service until further notice, and you will never guess where. According to BC Ferries service notice the BSC has a issue with a hydraulic leak and Old Faithful is returning to her regular run until they get this sorted out.

Notice that the New West is running Friday's extra sailings today on rt 1. They have the Coastals, and the New West with no Spirit Class service today. Has this ever happened before on this run?

I watched the coverage on a newscast last night. What a Friggin Joke! Mark my words this company will not be last more than about a year or so. When are these Fast ferry companies ever going to learn this type of service has never ever worked in BC and never will. You can always smell a doomed venture when you see one. They are just wasting their time and money could be invested in better opportunities that at least have a hope and prayer of success.

Notice she has her first glance at a "Queen" Which is the largest Queen she will ever see and will probably live well past the last days of our Queen ferries. I would assume that crews on the Reliant would have catch a glimpse of the Queen Mary inbound even if its just the top of the vessel.

Queen of Coquitlam Hoseshoe Bay to Langdale Winter 2017 service.
What is the Scheduling Logistics in regards to BC Ferries Providing a Crew(S) to run the Queen of Coquitlam while she is on this unique Horseshoe Bay to Langdale Sched? Normally in the Summer Both the Surrey and Coquitlam Crew's are based out of Langdale and year round there is only the Queen of Oak Bay and Capilano based out of Horseshoe Bay. Who is crewing the Queen of Coquitlam? Are they Horseshoe Bay, Langdale and Nanaimo based personal who are already trained on the vessel? There has not been a Second major vessel based at Horseshoe Bay in years, so I am wondering how this is logistically.

Yes, I was referring to Harbourlynx and any Passenger only ferries that could use the Seabus terminal for service to Vancouver Island. I believe there is one company that wants to use the Seaplane terminal for service to Victoria and another company wants to offer service to Nanaimo. Can both passenger only companies (V2V) and Sealink ? use the Seaplane terminal? Or is one going to use the Seabus terminal? That is IF the Nanaimo service ever starts.

Disabled passengers already use TransLink's Compass cards system ride throughout the province on BC transit buses. This is a great Idea.
This brings up another thing to consider, any new passenger ferries that would use TransLink's Waterfront seabus terminal in Vancouver will their passenger need to purchase a compass card to go through the fare paid zone? I used the seabus last November remembering that I need to tap in and tap out.
